eBay Watch Dogs,
What do you think about those who sell matrix sites on eBay? Not a matrix auction, but an actual website for sale? I saw one this morning. Would this be an even greater liability?

Our buddy, Kensley Dusen, who was on here a few days ago, sent me this email...
...well if u are willing to refund my money for the drivers. i would be happy if u could thanks so how could i get on in buy a matrix website?
This was in response to my email that told him that he hasn't cycled and if wants a refund that he can request one from paypal within 30 days of payment
It's scary that these are the people trying to get in on these things. Who taught these people english, spelling and/or typing??

That is interesting. I don't know if it violates any of ebays posting rules, but I certainly wouldn't want to be the person that bought into the business, just think of the liabilities that a person would be buying. These businesses don't have any assets what to speak of, only a large debt.
I do find it interesting that easy-matrix has it's website linked on the page, could that be a form of free advertising using ebay?

Hey I just "bought" a sony vaio laptop on ebay...
After I won the auction I got an email saying I'd have to pay the winning price and another 50 bucks to be put on the matrix list just to receive it in 6 - 10 weeks.
Can anyone help me with this one:

Please let know know something as soon as possible ...
Thanks!

It is likely that between eBay's policies and the eBay Watch Dogs, something could be worked out for you. However, just to satisfy my own curiosity, why would you bid on a laptop auction that stated:
"***Please note---you are bidding on the INFORMATION I will email at the end, to where you can purchase this laptop.***"
$150 for information, plus the $50 you would have to pay at the site? Plus, the seller has 0 feedback.
I would also love to know how this auction made it past the eBay Watch Dogs.

I'd like to know how it got by the watchdogs also. And when we saw the laptop it had only a few minutes left. Needless to say we were scanning over the info very quickly to try and get it.
We just obviously skipped or misread that part.
That kind of thing shouldn't be allowed on ebay.

One slips by once in awhile, I have reported this guy before but somehow I did not put his seller id on my watch list.

Just complain to ebay but DO NOT pay the guy, Even if you don'y pay ebay will do nothing to you. It takes 4 non paying bidder reports to get you kicked off ebay.
Since the auction is an auction that breaks the rules of selling on ebay they will not do anything to you.
If you need the link to report him let me know and I'll get it for you.

Also it is a bit misleading.

They've got more than laptops including an X-Box an many more laptops.
I would love if you could send the link to the reporting. How long does it usually take to get a response from Ebay?

Just use this link and explain the circumstances.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-titles.html
You need the auction number, give a description of the auction and you that thought you were bidding on a Real laptop. They should get back to you in 36 hours or so.
Also here is a link to the Live help page, sometimes it takes 20 or 30 minutes but you can talk to a real person and explain it to them.

Closer look at the email ebay sent, apparently he got suspended, so that would bring down his other auctions......

wasn't me either...I don't know all the rules, but it seemed legit to sell advertising space on ebay. They'd still get their share of the money and it would be sold at full price.

There are several "eBay watch dogs" who are only visitors here at Matrix Watch. It is very likely that one of them got a tip from one of the posts here and acted on it.

I saw a few other sites on there for sell, does anyone know if any actually sold? I saw the link above the seller ended the auction twice, the second reason being there was an error in the listing and I noticed it hasnt been relisted or sold on ebay.
But heres another question I have seen several of these auctions for matrix sites, most are starting the bidding above $5000, which I dont think anyone would pay anyway but do you think it could be just a way to advertise on Ebay and not get cancelled? I mean think about it they put their website url in the description, they had pics and described the products they gave away and even listed prices like PS2 for $25.. Then alot of people will see the auctions visit the site etc... and then the seller just ends the listing early before it sells or they can still just cancel the bids and then end it earlier and then they just picked up alot more exposure through ebay....
Did anyone actually find out if you were allowed to sell the actual matrix sites or not?

why couldn't you sell a matrix site?? It would be just like selling a domain for a legit business except you may not have as many people against you.

The auctions were in the correct categories. I watched them and all ended without a bid. I have not seen any but one that have been relisted.
The links to the website was Ok. because it explained the product for sale. Now if they repeatly listed the auction over and over they will be in violation of Ebay policies. The seller ended it because he had no bids and lowered his price. If he ends the auction to many times he is also breaking Ebay rules.

That's why I'm so good at getting them canceled. I printed out all the rules that would appy to Matrix type auctions, and after reading them a few times checking if this auction was OK or not you get to know them well.
That's why when I say that matrix type auctions are only allowed in one way, and one way only.
That's also why I say that this Gift / bonus auction won't make it either.
Just like the latest attempt to make an auction that will pass Ebays rules.
Like this one.
Title --- ALieNwaRe ArEA 51m::BRAND NEW IN BOX
Please note - this great deal has a reason. After you win and confirmation of payment is received, I will purchase the product in your name and enter your name to a list. You will get your laptop when you reach the top of the list. You will be given the website and be able to track your progress on the list daily or hourly if you like. It could take a week or up to a couple of months, but you will get your purchase. Retail on the Alienware Area 51 is over $2800.00. You are getting it at a mere fraction the retail cost. You will agree it's worth waiting for! . :):):) P.S> Also it is free shipping so you are saving another $30 right there. I know you are saying this is too good to be true but you will see if you relly want a brand new labtop tha is is NOT!!!
Now what rule or rules has this dummy broken ??

Well that is a blatant violation.....
A hint.....for you.....Think about this one, not that I do it of course....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sell a ebook for .99 and tell in your description that this ebook comes with a bonus. Then after someone purchases the ebook (Generally they do so for the feedback), then you send them the ebook with a link to the matrix site as the bonus.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm......Have you thought of that one.....Not that I am trying to help you, just pointing it out........

I already done searchs for this and not much came up. I don't care about them because unless they use a product in the title or description nobody will find them anyway.
If they do I will find them, and report them and they will be canceled..

hey, if someone buys an ebook and gets the matrix info as a bonus and don't know what the bonus product is until you send them the matrix address after they purchase the ebook, then I'm fine with that. However, it doesn't seem like too many people will look for just an ebook.

Well, believe it or not Hurley, they do actually look for ebooks, for reselling themselves and for the positive feedback, since purchasing the ebooks usually are cheap.....
