Hi,
My status shows as being cycled at Gotmatrix.com for the IPod, but I have not received any notification from them. Its been over a week now.
My status showed as cycled a month back too. Had sent a couple of reminders to greg@gotmatrix.com. Suprisingly I was added back to the cycling list with all the cycling helpers disappearing from the list. Greg has not responded to any of my emails.
I would like to file a formal complaint against Greg Day to act in accordance with what is stated on his site. At the same time I would appreciate some assistance on how to go about with this issue.
Please advise,
Sincerely
Rahul.

Rahul,
You situation sounds pretty serious. So, you were on the iPod list, you cycled, and now all the names beneath you have disappeared and you are back on the lists again. Is that correct?
Many of these matrix schemes start out with the owner mailing out gifts, and the customers get excited. Not long after, however, the mathematical consequences catch up with the owner and distributing gifts becomes harder and harder.
GotMatrix was mathematically predicted to crash months ago (see our GotMatrix.com sub-forum), and they are really busting at the seams at this point. There really is no hope, and it will only get worse from here.
Sometimes I am inclined to have pity on Greg for the difficult situation he is in. Most matrix owners have gone nuts on the customers at this point (remember Shelby?). But then I remember how many times we recommended that he shut down and refund customers when things were going well last year. He bucked at us and went on this crusade to prove that our claims about matrix sites were false. It turns out that everything we predicted has come true. Hopefully he still turns back before things get worse.
If we can help out in any way, then let us know (that goes for Greg too).
From this point you can:
1. Continue to contact Greg for a refund. Give him a deadline and hold true to what you say you will do after that deadline.
2. Determine whether or not you are eligible for a refund through either the pay company, CC company, or your bank.
3. Go to Lawyers.com and start sending out emails (it looks like you have good writing skills).
4. Get other customers to join you here at MatrixWatch in order to consider what you all may be able to accomplish together.
Whatever you do, don't do anything illegal. Two wrongs will never make a right here, and it will only make things more difficult for everyone. Perhaps Greg would be willing to meet you at Step 1.
Let us know how it turns out.

I've moved this thread over to the GotMatrix.com Information forum.

Come on WD, you, I, and every registered member in here know Greg isn't going to refund anyone. No matter how many emails you send, he's not going to reply.
A while ago, i remember he was saying he is an honest person and I didn't disagree with him. But doesn't seem like he's being completely honest now is he? Personally, I don't think anyone will get the money back unless some kind of lawsuit is involved.
Greg is not likely to answer any email at all. If you must talk to him, I think you have a better shot tracking down "Sig" from matrix-site.net instead. He's in love with Greg or something, always there to defend him and his site. Whenever there's a Gotmatrix topic posted at MW, he'd bring it over to matrix-sites.net and trash talk it while he cries about MW members bringing their post over here at MW. I am sure he can give you alot more information than anyone in here.

I agree with you, but that is why I said partial refunds. Perhaps he could suggest a percentage of the total amount paid. It would be better than nothing. I have seen between 150 and 220 matrix sites shut down in the past 16 months. Never once have I seen a cycling matrix site send out refunds before they shut down, so yes your are correct I know that Greg isn't going to refund anyone.
The customers look like they are doing a pretty good job at keeping on him, but in all reality none of them are going to get anything from Greg. He hasn't mailed out gifts even if he said he did, he won't mail out refunds, and he is trying to wear his members down so that he can make a run for it. THAT is the reality, and some won't like to hear it but it is 100% true.
Anyone who comes on that GotMatrix forum at this point and praises Greg because they just got a prize or a refund needs to post a video recording of the mail man coming to the house and delivering the package. They need to show the camera the return address label and then open the package right in front of the lens. Otherwise, they are just plain lying. It would not be hard for either Greg or one of his friends to post on that forum saying that they got something. It just plain isn't going to be true at this point.
Anyone who understands how these matrix sites work, and has seen them shut down, knows what I am talking about.
The GotMatrix customers need to think about taking things to the next level, not continue to email a guy who has all intentions of keeping their money.
As I said before, I really feel for Greg in the difficult position he is in. However, it isn't like we didn't tell him that this would end up happening if he kept that site going.
Perhaps he will post here again and we can dialogue with him about what solutions he is thinking of, if any.

I doubt he would post here again, or anywhere that matter. Right now, he just wants to disappear. I think he knew he was in trouble a while ago when he was trying to defend himself here at MW. He said he wasn't going to post here anymore, that I can believe. If I was in his position, I wouldn't want to face the post here either. Wouldn't want to get trashed with truths and facts.
This is reality. There's no such thing as successful matrix site. Not unless if you define "success" as in "long lasting," then sure, Gotmatrix is "successful." Gotmatrix did last a long time, longer than most matrix sites. But it only last because Greg realize the problem and wouldn't admit it, letting the site stay open and now he's in a deep hole.
It's obvious he's not going to refund any money, not even a little. If he was "honest" like he said he was, he would at least refund little by little. Letting the site open will kill him. If enough people get scammed (and I think we have more than enough,) and someone would step up and file a lawsuit, gather all the victums together and I am sure people will get their money back. I don't know much about lawsuits since I don't follow them, but I think it will work.
I wonder if Greg could go to prison for that...?
