"ebay has removed 50.49% of all reported auctions"

This is fantastic, it has been nice to see the percentage removed increase day by day, just a little at a time.

The balance has now tipped in our favour, we are winning.

Who is going to predict when we will hit 60% ( the winner will get a free link to a matrix scam) ( big grin )

Great news. I remember back when they were only responding to less than 10% of our reports.

Now, is this the US eBay or the UK eBay?

that number represents a combination of both US and UK auctions .. anything that gets reported in the Post Only Auction thread.

I don't want to be the pesimist here, but I am the "accountant" as far as auctions are concerned, and I want to make sure that no one is confused by the numbers.

eBay has an expiration period for their auctions. This means that after a certain amount of time, auctions are removed from their database. At the current time I do not know what the expiration period is. In any event....

You must keep in mind that our auctions have been databased since November of 2003. How does this relate to my above comments? Well, it is completely possible that some of the first auctions we reported are finally hitting that expiration period. This would result in hundreds of auctions in our database showing up as closed, which would bump our percentages.

This is in no way saying that eBay isn't being more compliant, or that our reports are not makign a difference. I just think that the NARU user stats are a better judgement call as far as what we are getting done. From what I have seen, around 15 sellers get NARUed every 24 hours! That is just from the auctions we report.

Long story short.....no one get too excited. This is a milestone, but there is a lot of work to be done, and the numbers CAN lie.
