I hope I didn't needlessly start a new thread here. It didn't seem right to pose this question under the Firefox thread.
Has anyone tried Thunderbird yet? How does it compare with Outlook? I have no complaints about Outlook but am always looking for something new and maybe better. :)

I use Thunderbird, and really the major benefit is the built in spam filter. it actually learns what your junk mail looks like and files it appropriately. Other than that, it still needs some work, (its still at version 0.9) and doesn't compare with Outlook as far as features go (like no built in calendar, notes, contacts area).

Thanks. I guess I'll stay with Outlook for now. :)

But it really does the mail good, the only thing I wash it had was a report to button that we could put the addy in & after that when we hit the report to button it would mark it as junk & report to whatever reporting service we use.
I'm 500 % happy with it after 3 months

I just thought of a neat add-on extention for Thunderbird.
They need to make a side-bar with clickable options for auto-replies to emails. You would be able to decide what they say, and when you click the button it will create a whole email for you, signature and all, and then send it.
Sometimes we can get "those emails" that warrant the same response time and time again. It would be great to have an easy and fast way to respond to these without having to copy/paste content from an old email.
I'm sure that business and government would benefit from this as well, since they get so many emails that often take so long to respond to.

I'm not sure because I've never used or read about it BUT they do have something called a template, would that be what you were looking for?? AGAIN I haven't read or used it so I'm just guessing at the function.
