Section 75 of The Consumer Credit Act has been changed.

The credit card companies went to the high court for a ruling on wether they had to provide protection for goods or services purchased abroad or on the internet.

The high court ruled that they were not responsible and did not have to provide protection.

As from 11/11/04 any uk based card holder, with a uk based credit card company does not get automatic protection.

Protection may be provided, but this is an extra, and is over and above the level of protection required by law.

This change, may make it impossible to get a chargeback, when you have problems with online electronic money transfer companies.

Take care folks

Weird,

You posted this last year, but I was wondering if things turned out the way you predicted? Have UK victims had trouble filing chargebacks?

WD,
nothing has changed, the credit card companies are still conducting business just the same.
Why they went to court beats me, as they still honour purchases on the internet and around the world.
