View Full Version : Lets unite in our fight....eBay "MATRIX" seller list
search&destroy
June 28th, 2003, 02:55 AM
This is a preliminary list of eBay sellers that sell links to Matrix websites.
I will update this list as & when I find more.
Help a brother out & try to get these guys booted off the eBay community.
SEARCH & DESTROY
List as of 6/27/03

****Watch Dog Edited*****
Originally there was a list here, but I do not want to close any ebay accounts unless we have evidence that they have violated eBay's policies. Please post possible matrix-site auctions, but do not give eBay seller names so blatantly. If you wish to have a seller's account examined then please forward the issue to eBay directly.
If you see a matrix auction and would like to report it to the eBay Watch Dogs, then please post the auction URL in the appropriate folder, "Report a Matrix Auction"..

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!!! Hold off a bit. I do not believe that you are allowed to do what you just did. Let me look into a few things and see if I need to delete this post. Until then, I don't think anyone should do anything about these names for now. If any of these people are not really violating eBay's policies and someone here gets them all banned, then we would be causing unjust damages to these members of eBay.
I want to avoid carpet bombing a group of eBay sellers just to eliminate a few matrix auctioneers. If what you have said is true then I would like a full eBay Watch Dog investigation to see which site(s) are sponsoring these auctions.

Im sorry but I just dont like the fact that some guy out there is making 200 dollars (yes u read right, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS) for a url or website link that is a SCAM !!
BTW IMHO whether u put up one auction or a 100, u r still a SCAMSTER!!
Hopefully Mr peterdragin can kick these guys to HELL before they can do any more damage.

I dont know if this is ground breaking.....okay i admit what i have is not conclusive as to shill bidding but it will definitely prove that these guys r selling matrix websites. I am also working on proving shill bidding. But eBay's policy of "NO SALES OUTSIDE eBay" alone should be enought to shut down these auctions, hopefully for good.
I thought the admin deleted my post but he just moved it, thanks for letting me voice my opinion. Once again I want to emphasize that I have done the research & everyone of the above mentioned sellers is selling a url or website where people can supposedly buy cheap electronics.
Here are a few links with descriptions : (just a tip of the proverbial iceberg!)

I appreciate your hard work, but please do not accuse eBay users of shill bids unless you are completely sure. You may post those bids here and ask the eBay watch dogs to report them, but please do not make a judgement here at Matrix Watch before eBay has the chance to.

You can also search for
nike irons 45
nike irons 90
callaway c4 55
nike 400cc 55
These are the only golf club ones that I know of.
I am limiting my search and destroy to golf related items because I don't have a ton of time.
I've reported all the current auctions.

What you need to do is check the auctions ending today and you will not see anymore, they never make it.
99% get canceled, you konw ebay dosen't just cancel them right away after you report them. It takes 24 to 36 hours, and this also depends on how busy the investagating teams are. I sometimes see them gone in a few hours sometimes takes 36 hours and longer. Sure one gets missed once in awhile but like I say 99% get canceled !
Email me with your list and I'll look into them and see if shill bidding is going on and put the seller id's on my list to check, but I probably already have the names already on my lists. If they are selling a Info / Matrix auction I have run across them.

One slipped by this weekend, but the buyer used the buy it now before ebay could do anything about it.
Right now, there are none of the golf club auctions that I can find.
It has really slowed down rsient.com as well because no one has cycled in the past week because there aren't any new ads going out.

Ebay is there number one tool to get new members !
This is taking away 90% of new signups.
Word of mouth won't get it done, just think if you got your buddy to sign up for a Matrix site and when he found out what his chances are to get anything, Looks like a good way to get your "asre" kicked.
All these adds on other Martix forums are no good either, people now know it's a losing scam. No new signups there!
What do he Matrix sites have left to them to get new signups ??
Posting ads in shopping centers ?
Ads in local news papers ?
Email everybody in your contact list, see arse kicked !
What's left ?????

I think one of their new sources of advertisement is Matrix Watch!!! I have tons of people linking to our site by doing all kinds of searches on Google and Yahoo for matrix sites. When I first started the site, a Google search for Matrix Watch pulled up Matrix Reloaded, now we have even outranked the movie!! One of our greatest sources for advertisement is the announcement page on closed sites. They usually provide a link to Matrix Watch, citing it as a reason they closed.

mr peterdragin u r an inspiration. i had my first kill last weekend. NARUed 2 sellers who were shill bidding & selling matrix websites.
Man its really easy to get these guys kicked off ebay as long as u can prove they are shill bidders.
One Question for ya all tho, how many times does a seller put up an illegal auction before he gets kicked out. thats really hard to do unless u have all the time in the world. u can get their auctions closed out but good luck kicking them off ebay
why doent ebay look at feedback patterns & get rid of them ? Because they make money off these guys ?

It doesn't appear that ebay does much to monitor anyone, they seem to rely on people like yourself, Hurley and Peterdragin to report them.

July 4th, 2003, 03:24 AM
I recently found out that Arzel is right. eBay relies upon people to report them. Eventually, someone will get wise and start holding eBay accountable for these auctions, but until then we will try our best.
I do think that these guys need some help though. Any word back from the Auction Guild? Perhaps we could join efforts.

search&destroy : If just one person reports the same seller it takes [in my experience] at least 6 to 7 times before ebay will boot the seller off, but if 3 different people report the seller he gets booted on the 4th report, and when you report someone and it pops up that the auction is already under investagion, report it anyway it still counts against them as a reported auction.
The more people reporting these auctions the faster ebay will kick them off.
Arzel : correct! ebay has always relied on the sellers and bidders to police the auctions, they never have had people to just go and look for illegal auctions. Now they have made a big effort to get the account highjackers off ebay, most off these guys are from Spain and England ! They have arrested quite a few so far. There is some good reading on the ebay forums about this if you want here is a link to the forum..

My list of sellers kicker off Ebay is 252 now [got a few more in the last day or two] 254 sellers with the 2 search got..

252....Wow I guess you feel pretty good about yourself, huh.
Do you not realize what you are doing? Some of these ebay advertisers are the customers promoting the sites that they are on so that they cycle faster. Yes those are the ones your supposedly protecting, yet you are causing them to lose there money.
I really wish you all could actually see the damage you are doing. And it isn't to the people you think it is either. It's the customers you claim that you are protecting....

This is a clip from one of the auctions ! ( this auction was running yesterday, it's gone now I got it canceled.)
Guess: You have more time; I'm told it takes about 30-60 days to receive your new 50" Plasma HDTV
NEW 50" PLASMA COLOR TV (you will have time of set your living room or den up
This is why !! Now where did he get his info from??
One of the matrix sites !! Need I say More ..

90% of the auctions I see do offer that!

July 4th, 2003, 02:06 PM
And somehow that is All of the Matrix Owners fault?
peterdragin
July 4th, 2003, 02:34 PM
That's the way I see it, they are the ones who started it.
If you "honest" site owners would have policed the not so "honest sites" this would not be happening and we wouldn't have to police them.
tcb1969a
July 4th, 2003, 07:02 PM
We don't police them because we don't have the time. We are busy finding ways to help those on the lists cycle faster....
hurley9192
July 5th, 2003, 03:35 AM
the matrix owners miss the point all together...your lists need to cycle exponentially faster (as fast as they exponentially grow) for you to actually be a real business.
The way it works, getting something for a fraction of the price is only possible when more than one person pays in and only one receives something.
The problem is that by the time someone got something within 30-60 days, it is 5-10 times longer than that.
tcb1969a

Yes and there is always some soft of catch in order to get something like electronics for almost nothing. And it is explained on most matrix sites how it works. In fact some sites go out of their way in explaining how the system works over and over and over again, so that there is no misunderstanding.
Also I was originally a Matrix customer, and I did not have the money for some high priced electronics, so I did my research on how Matrix sites work, and realized it was worth it. Sure some sites I am still waiting to cycle from after 3 months while others I cycled in a day or two. It is a learning experience and those you talk about being stuck at the bottom of the list, most of them realize that and if the list does not move, they will go to another site and keep trying until they cycle. Learning as they go the best way about it.....

hmmm i think i can enroll a few guys for this idea. so if i can get 3 or 4 other guys to complain about the same seller , there is a good chance.....better get to work
peterdragin
July 5th, 2003, 04:13 PM
Yes the more people who report the same seller, the seller gets kicked off after 3 or 4 reports even if's it's for the same auction. Ebay looks at the number of bidders who report the seller, not how many times he is reported.
As I said before if I just reported the seller it takes 6 to 8 reports to get him kicked off. Normaly the first time a seller gets booted it's for 30 days, if his record is clean. But if his feedback is not good ( neg feedback for the type of auctions he is getting booted for) he will get booted for 90 days, and maybe 6 mos.
