Hello to all who read
I am the owner of the above named site Electrical Web and would just like to point out that not all of us are out to rip people off. A fellow member of my site informed me of your website and I have to say I am utterly amazed at how many have spawned the past couple of years. I agree that this is not right - I say not right because innocent people are the victim. I really don't know what to say except that I am an honest man who has made many people happy. It's the spawners who will sell a Plasma for $20 or £25 that should be stopped.
I make very little money off this site so it's good that I have a proper job. I give back such as the Christmas giveaway at present. I am by no way encouraging people to follow but perhaps these sites should remember not to bite the hand that feeds.

Hi Harry
Since i'm not sure what your URL is to your site, is it a matrix site or something else? I get the impression its not a matrix site by the way you describe it. I'd be curious to see your site.

Even though you are not out to rip people off, in the end, aren't there going to be people on your lists that don't receive the gift you guarantee them that they will get? The matrix system is never-ending, and for every person that gets a gift, the list only gets longer.
I can understand you making little or no money on your site, because over time, matrix sites do this. Is this something you see yourself doing for a long time in the future?

Welcome to the Matrixwatch, Harry! It is not a matter of honesty or dishonesty. Designing a pyramid scheme for members to participate IS dishonest because you are asking a 90-98% of the members to pay only a few members and yourself.
If you are really honest, then you should have done 2 of the following options.
1) Close down your pyramid-matrix scheme and refund everyone.
2) Restart your pyramid-matrix site again with this clear message at your front page: "This is a pyramid/ponzi scheme, enter at your own risk." Then, everyone here will reconsider you a honest businessman.
FYI, there are only two types people that will signup to a "closeted pyramid scheme", mislabeled as straight-line matrix.
1) well informed speculators -- people who knows exactly what this pyramid-matrix scam is all about. They will fight themselves to the top and wait for their chance to get their free gifts donated by deceived newbies.
2) deceived newbies -- those who do not have the proper information (since the owner of the website purposely hide the fact that they are running a pyramid/ponzi scheme) to determine the true nature of the "straight-line matrix". They often join at the bottom of the waiting lists, thinking that they will cycle in a very short time. They have absolutely no idea that they are joining a pyramid scheme and that their money has been used pay the speculators and owners.
When deceived newbies finally realize that they were deceived and will NEVER get their gifts, they will often take action against the owners.
Speculators will also take actions against owner even though they know what they are doing. Since they are opportunists, they will take whatever chance they have to either exploit the scam, get the free gifts and leave, or join actions against the owners if they fail to get their free gifts. It does not sound right, isn't it? Unfortunately, if you are running a illegitimate scheme, then you are vulnerable lawsuits and other legal actions.
Have you heard of a business that only 2-10% of your customers are happy while 90-98% of your customers are ready to sue you? Can you imagine any legitimate business in such a pathentic circumstances? I can't. The only explanation is: it must be a pyramid/ponzi scheme. :)
Think again, and hope you do the right thing. :) In any case, thanks for sharing your thought on matrixwatch!

Hello Again
Well thanks for all your posts it's been a real eye opener. All I can say is that I see Electrical Web as a long term hobby and I can provide details of people who have had their items. I also do quite clearly state throghout the auction that you are added to a list etc...
I also offer Live chat and have visitors chatting live all the time and they are clearly informed abut the way the system works (perhaps thats why I don't do as well as others!)
Anyways my goal is to make sure everybody gets their item and I always give refunds if they ask for it even :p if they have been on the list along time.
Bye for now and thanks for the posts

Before I start, I want to say that I do admire your honesty and willingness to come here to defend your reputation.
Anyways my goal is to make sure everybody gets their item
You are in the wrong business if that is the case. Usually and average of 95% of matrix customers never receive their "item". It is just the undenyable mathematical truth with matrix schemes.

I agree 100% with Ycchen. The only way to make things right is to refund all your customers and close up shop. If you want to know why, check out some former owners' posts here:

And if that isn't enough, check out the lawsuits that are in progress against matrix sites:

Thanks again for coming to our forums to share your thoughts. Everyone is welcome here.

Harry,
Thanks for posting your insights. Now, after reading through the responses to your post it seems that there is an issue that you haven't provided a solution for. You see, all of your customers who are at the top of the lists will only "cycle" out and get their item if new customers join the lists. Then, the process will continue to for these new customers as well. All the while, your lists are becoming longer and longer.
Offering special programs such as Christmas giveaways, detailed instructions, and live chat doesn't deal with the problem. In fact, it only makes your pyramid scheme appear to be more legitimate--which is not a good thing.
I'd recommend that you take a look at the link in our Main-Menu box entitled "What is a Matrix Site?" That page pretty much covers all of the issues related to these schemes, and shows that every solution dreamed up to fix the problem of ever-growing lists has not worked.
For every person who cycles on your site, there will be another 5-50 people who do not. When the lists get long enough, then the customers you need to sustain the lists will stop coming because your lists are too long, and there are other sites out there with shorter lists.
The matrix sites are rather new outside the U.S., but we are seeing the same exact problem develop. At some point, everyone realizes that the only way to get something from a matrix site is to get on the top of the lists. So, as soon as a matrix site gets a few names on it the customers stop coming and more and more new matrix sites are opened by customers who are trying to recoup their losses. The matrix market then becomes gridlocked, where lists everywhere are either frozen or empty.
If your website is enabling a process whereby early investors are paid off by later investors, then you are doing a disservice to people and not helping them as you may think. What will you do with the 90% of your customers who get nothing? Will you just tell them that they should have read the fine print? Will you tell them that you offered live service or hosted Christmas giveaways?
Trust me, it isn't going to work.
