I just called greg at the info on the WHOIS, and I told him that he owes me $50. He said that gotmatrix is going to be back up soon. I told him that I had not believed him, and that it has been down for some time. He claimed that the reason it was down, was because of the problems with the domain name, which i feel is TOTAL CRAP. If you guys wanna give him a ring his number is (1)(513)304-1324. Call him up.

Don't be fooled, you are correct that its total crap that he'll be back. His domain name (got-matrix) expires in February. his hosting company (got-host) has disappeared, and all the sites on it have been migrated elsewhere. Its all part of the plan to run with everybodys loot.
Check out the gotmatrix thread ...

Wonder if he'll answer the phone again if someone calls?

interesting, the site is back, but its hosted by "The Planet" in Tx, like all his other websites that were on his service previously ........ if you had your own web provider, wouldn't you host your site on your own service?

Greg is going to play the "divide and rule" trick again. He is buying himself sometime to fense off any current investigation against him. No offence, but many ex-diehard supporters have claimed that as long as gotmatrix continues to operate and pay the cycled member (which it failed of course), they are wiling to wait as long as possible, even if it means 100 years.
If I were Greg, what I will do is to put my website up and pay (or refund) a few cycled members, and this will silence most of the ex-diehard supporters. Then, the whole investigation on this pyramid scam will fall apart again, until next time.
See... here is the biggest misconception on "what is a scam?" Pyramid/ponzi scheme is a scam EVEN if the early birds gets pay by the donation of the latecomers. So, simply by selling ebooks and pay the early birds does not make a pyramid/ponzi scheme a legitimate business.
The ex-supporters thought if they are patience enough, they will get their gifts, and then as long as they get their gifts, they don't care about the rest. It is this selfish attitude that fuel the pyramid scam. All these scams are using one group customers (early birds) against the rest (latecomers). Make them compete with each other and criticize each other. Make them support and promote the scam at any cost, so the scam will maintain a good image, then newbies will donate. It is the manipulation of the GREED of the customers (especially early birds) that keep gotmatrix and other copycat matrix survive.
As an owner, Greg knows this very well. In fact, he has no choice. In order to break the solidarity of the customers (ALL against him), he will resume to his old trick by DIVIDING the customers (many against him, but some for him). Pay off a few strong opponents, and deal with other soft spoken (or under 18 years old) one later.
I won't be surprise if Greg pull the trick again and refund and pay a fews. He knows who to pay since we have a list of disgruntled victims.
I wish matrix customers can see a larger picture. You are against the scam NOT ONLY that you are not getting pay. You are against the scam because it is based on a unjust business model called pyramid/ponzi scheme. Only if you step back and see the larger picture, then you will not easily buy off by Greg or other owners.
If Greg is back, ALL customers should ask for refund NOT only for oneself, but for EVERYONE. Only through collective action, everyone will benefit. If some ask for cycled money or refund and then left, then, the whole collective action will break apart because we are back to the same unjust pyramid scheme again. Few benefit and most suffer. Ex-supporters should change their mindset if they really want their money back and bury the scam. They have to fight the scam collectively, and not individually. Because if you go for individual gain, then you are falling back in to the same "customers against customers" logic that has been keeping gotmatrix survive for so long.
that's my 2 cents.

Wow...Ycchen nailed this one right on the head. Even if Greg happens to come back...the customers of Gotmatrix need to continue to stick together, and request refunds.
I doubt Greg will be back anyhow....

He said that gotmatrix is going to be back up soon. I told him that I had not believed him, and that it has been down for some time. He claimed that the reason it was down, was because of the problems with the domain name...
And even if he does put his site back up, what would that accomplish? If he is so willing to reappear all of a sudden it only means that the actions taken by the GotMatrix community is beginning to work. Keep at it. The goal should be to put this guy behind bars.
Nobody should be able to walk away with over $350,000 and get away with it.
Turn the heat up on this scammer. File more complaints, get in touch with that TV reporter, and continue to build momentum for the campaign here at MatrixWatch.org. ;)

Just an update. I already got a response from the Louisiana state atty general's office(though somewhat generic). Said they were going to try and contact the owner of gotmatrix.com(Good Luck) and would let me know what the response was within 4-6 weeks. I don't know if this is going to do any good, but hey it is a start. Maybe if they do get in touch with Greg, he will see that even some of his so called "die-hard" supporters are sick of this bs he is feeding us. Anyway, I think I am finally going to have some time tommorrow to contact my local law enforcement and Clermont County since I will have a little help around here for the holiday break. Anyway, I will keep you all up to date.
And just as an FYI for Ycchen, I was one of those people you were talking about and I was one who said IF Greg kept the site up and running and paying people then he was doing what he had promised when I made my purchases and I had no right to complain. To act like it is okay what he has done now would just be plain stupid. I don't think anyone is going to forgive and forget even if Greg were crazy enough to try and bring Gotmatrix back up again, which is extremely doubtful. Honestly, I have never said and at this point do not neccessarily believe that matrix sites in general are illegal(or legal), but the fact remains that I would never invest in another one again and actually had not put any money into one in about a year. I think I am what some have been referring to as matrix-neutral. Anyway, just wanted to put in a word in "my" defense. I would hope noone would take anything Greg ever says again as the truth. It is wrong what he has done and seems especially so to those of us who tried to put a lot of faith in him "against all odds"(so to speak).
I almost just said "forget it" and let Greg slink off with my money, but that would be a mistake. Even if I do not see a dime of it back, he should not be able to just walk away so easily after he has let so many people down. It has become to me more of the principal of the matter rather than the money(although a refund of some or all of it would be nice). I think(as Watchdog basically just said) no matter what Greg's further actions are that everyone should make sure and at least get these complaints filed so that if nothing else Greg's "get away" with all of our money is not as easy as he had hoped for.

Good for you sigx97!
Many customers are asking for the cycled money, and I am sure Greg will choose a few cheaper ones to pay to. However, at the end of the day, Greg still need to refund everyone eventually, and he knows that. Thus paying a few is just a way to stop or slow down the "victims" from filing complaints against him.
For those who have cycled, it made perfect sense to ask for cycled money, even though we suggest ALL customers to ask for your refund. Nevertheless, for 90% of the customers who are still in the waiting lists, your chance of cycle is ZERO cause NO one will donate to this scam any more. Thus, it makes no sense to delay filing complaints to local police department unless you are given up hope for some refund or compensation, or simply justice against pyramid scam.

OK thats just a ignorant statement. You cant judge if someone is smart, dumb, or shady by their voice.
