The Gotmatrix Victim's movement to get their money back looks to have come to a screeching halt. New victims were signing up on the list at a rate of 2-5 a day prior to Gotmatrix opening back up.

The moment Gotmatrix re-opened, the income of new victims completely stopped. There have been 0 new signups to the list in the last 3 days.

I'd just like to say that this is terribly disheartening to me. I put in countless hours each week at Matrixwatch, and during the last month while Gotmatrix was down, the number of hours only went up. I truly thought that the Gotmatrix customers would unite, and would all take action as a group.

As usual, I have expected too much. By no means to I plan on taking down the victim's list.....I am, however, ready to admit my frustration and dissapointment in the lackluster response that I received from the majority of the Gotmatrix victims.

To the victims who did take action, and filed all those reports, I thank you. Keep up the hard work, as this is only the beginning of this fight!!

To those victims who are sitting back and waiting for something to happen: nothing will happen without your help. Long story short....get off your duff.

Merc makes a very good point, Greg is playing his game by putting Got Matrix back up to discourage anybody's thoughts that he has run away, don't play into that game. The simple fact that if he really is accepting new sign-ups, its only by money order, so what is to make anybody think that any list is going to move, and if anybody did cycle, that he would actually pay.

Be wise, this isn't the first time GotMatrix has gone down and has suddenly reappeared, I hope that any customers reading this thread can see through this and continue your effort against him.

Good point. And it also isn't the first time that a matrix owner re-opened his site offering to accept payments via-money order or check until a new processor can be found.

The fact is that Greg has lost nearly half-a-dozen processors over the past year, and this happens when a processor feels that they might be servicing a scam or a potential liability for chargebacks.

Okay, I contacted deputy Patton at Clermont County sherriffs office. He stated that they do not specifically have an "internet fraud" type unit. He said that the reports I have already filed: IFCC, BBB, and AG offices- specifically IFCC is where I should be filing complaints. He said if I filed a complaint with them there is not really anything they can do because of the fact that even though I have an address for Greg they do not know that this is truely correct. Or where he really is since it is internet. He said even if I did know the address this is a report they would refer to places like IFCC which I have already filed a report with so I would be creating "double work" which would be unnecessary. I did also note to him that the site is a "matrix site" and that I have been advised they are illegal. He did not say he knew anything on that and advised me to just wait for reponses from the authorities I already filed complaints with. I am fairly sure at least that the LA state AG will get back in touch since they said they would, but I am not too sure the outcome will be all that great... Anyway, I tried. I did not call the local police dept here only because I don't see that they are going to do anything at all if the police station in Greg's area would not. I am assuming I would get the same answer... Please tell me that some other people did actually bother to call and tell me what they got. Maybe I need to talk to someone specifially...? Help me out on this please since I am attempting to do all I can here. I just spent 10 minutes on the phone(about 6 of it waiting for the deputy just to get on the line) and didn't accomplish anything. Do I need to send letters or something instead? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Nicole,

The Clermont authorities told a member here "samslack" basically the same thing. They also told him to contact his local police department.

The bigger picture here is the lack of interest basically all authority has for the matrix scam. This is where we have to remain diligent. As the Clermont County police department, the IFCC, and the Attorney Generals get more and more complaints, it will come to a point where they can no longer ignore the situation. If you can think of other ways to put your point accross (such as mailing letters out to all the organizations listed)....then do it.

Keep up the good work Nicole!

Well unfortunately it appears Greg is winning his game for now because that is basically what the deputy said about if they get a lot of the same type of complaint...etc... but obviously not many of us are doing this now since Greg brought the site back up. I can only hope that the other authorities are going to do something. Anyway, like I said before even though it aggravates me, I don't feel like I lost anything for trying with them since I know I will never see my money anyway. I pretty much knew the response would not be too much though since I have seen similar type situations because of Ebay. If Gotmatrix customers don't get up and many of us call, then Claremont County is just going to "write us off" for now. I can only hope that maybe there were a number of other reports filed online before GM came back up and this will get someone to take notice... Guess all I can really do at this point is wait and see. :( Thanks anyway for the help thus far.

Nicole,

If you want to continue to be pro-active, contact those folks on the victim's list (via PM or email) and motivate them to file reports. If you want, you can forulate a short letter to them and I can review it prior to it going out.

although slightly off topic, exactly how big are the lists on gotmatrix.com - i would look myself but it keeps asking me for a username and pw, and although i registered, it will not take it!

You have to be a paying member on the lists to see gotmatrix lists...they are huge though. We have a a statistics thread from November 2003 (listing all lists and lengths) in teh gotmatrix forum.

I don't think anything I can say will change their minds. Other than what I already have said on both the GM and MW forums I don't know what else COULD be said. WD put up a thread advising of just how much of a lie all that Greg's excuses have been since he could have easily contacted us via email since he claimed the site was still accessible thru some IP address. Greg has talked out of both sides of his mouth very obviously lately. And his actions have spoken even louder. If these people don't see it, I just don't know what else to think.

Someone on the GM forum had the nerve to tell me I just ought to give Greg another month to prove himself since I had already given him over a year and a half. What he should have suggested is I go ahead and send Greg another couple hundred dollars too since I have already given him over $2000. That would have made as much sense. If everyone just gives Greg a month each time he screws us then eventually he is going to get his "clean break".

Sadly enough, I guess other than maybe me and very few others the rest of these "customers" are just gonna have to learn the hard way that Greg is not really who he pretends to be. Not that I haven't learned a costly lesson already, but at very least I don't have to feel as stupid when he runs off for good. I did at least try to do something this time. I am only going to hope for someone there in the IFCC or AG office to take a little iniative in reading the complaints I sent and actually following thru. If not at least my conscience will be a little clearer knowing I didn't lead any more people down the "wrong path".

One last plea for you Gotmatrix "customers" at very least if you are concerned about speaking up on the forums or calling and directly speaking with the authorities you can file many complaints online. As shown in Mercinary's thread there is the IFCC,BBB, Attorney generals offices for both your state and Greg's state OH. ALL of these had accessible websites where I just went in and typed everything up. It might take 10 -30 minutes each depending on what all you put into each one, but it is not AT ALL difficult. At very least if you do this then these "authorities" will realize it is not just a few disgruntled customers and actually realize the magnitude of the scam happening here. We are talking hundreds of thousand of dollars! I know there are several people who have put at least $1000 into the site just themselves(me included). Please do something here. Stop waiting for him to just admit he is a liar and is going to eventually run off with all of the money, because it is severely doubtful he will ever do that! And if he does you can be sure he will be very unreachable before he admits it.

Anyway, I can't think of much else to say on this.

Nicole,

The last paragraph of your last post was the kind of thing I was talking about.

I don't think anything I can say will change their minds. Other than what I already have said on both the GM and MW forums I don't know what else COULD be said.

The problem is that 90% of the victims are not frequenting matrixwatch. PMing them (which sends a notice via email) is the only way to really get them to see what we want them to see. That isn't to put pressure on you or anything. It was just another idea which would further your cause.

Yea, I didn't really think about that. Maybe I will just pretty much cut/paste that paragraph and send it on to them. Thanks.
