There sure are a lot of red Xs out there, which is good. By the way, ematrixusa needs some of those Xs, since they are closed because they are being sued.

That sure does make those matrix supporters look like idiots when they say, "There are a few sites out there that scam other people, and they make it look bad for the rest of us legitimate sites out there." Wow, I really didn't know that 95% ore more of the sites conftitutes a FEW. I guess they must have redefined the word FEW in the new matrix language that they have been creating.

Woa, every single site that I've ever heard of as being "legit" and "honest" and the quote I love the most "is not going anywhere" is on this list with the exception of GotMatrix and a couple UK sites. This list alone is proof that the matrix system does not work. All these sites used the same system and most had autocycles and alternate means of generating money to help the lists out, yet they are all closed.

If it were possible, I would like to see the opening and closing dates of each site so newbies can see the short timespan these sites were up as opposed to sites like GotMatrix that is still up, but has long been stagnant so they can see what will eventually happen to all sites whether the owner is honest or not.

ALL Newbies as well as current customers of matrix sites can clearly see with this list and all the other information that can be found on this site (YCCHEN's statistics, etc...) that the matrix structure CAN NOT WORK and WILL NOT WORK, no matter what there will always be hundreds if not thousands of customers left out with nothing.

mercinary, great list!

Many of the list might not 'officially' close, but they are completely stagnant. We should consider them -- half dead. :D

I really like the idea of opening and closing dates. Obviously that can't be done overnight, but it would be interesting if anybody had either date for any site to submit it.

What would also be intersting is a ??? reference to those sites that are pretty much dead, but you don't get a 404 when you go there yet, like the sites where concerned can post and not get kicked.

What I find humurous is going to a forum where a new and great site is advertised, maybe from like 2 or 3 months ago, and its already dead. People support this stuff????

What newbies need to know is matricies only work for the diehards. Yes, it might take 3-7 months to cycle if you bought all them ebooks on the first day. But, if you buy past the first week or the first month, you are just throwing money away. So these diehards will find a site that will be opening, and if it looks pretty enough to attract "customers" they will buy alot of spots on top, take the money, say how great the site is (so the remaining of their spots cycle), than find the next matrix to do it.

Than you have the supporters who don't have that kind of money, or just aren't as quick that sometimes see a cycle, so thats why they still try.

Than you have the newbies. Spend $50 here, or $100 there. Everything is always hot. Buy lots. If you ever cycle, reinvest the money since you know the system works.

The only problem I see with this list is it might give some supporters a new site to go to to lose even more money. I just hope those that look at this will realize that alot of businesses fail, either by not turning enough profit, operating at a loss, unable to compete, bad location, etc. But, when you have a business plan that constantly and consistantly fails by doing what its supposed to do, the possible gain is not worth the risk.

Yes, all businesses will close eventually. There are businesses open still after over 100 years of operation. You want to trust a site thats been open for a little over a year, or one thats been around for a couple months, or better yet, that great site that is opening next week with a 90 day refund policy, and no admin costs?

I used to run a matrix site, but refunded everyone after I shut it down, thus you see no angry former members of deals2good.com coming here.

I made some additions to the list this afternoon. I mostly got these additions from surfing around just a couple of threads right here at the matrixwatch forums. I don't have tons of time to surf through our forums looking for matrix sites not listed here, but if someone has an hour to spare, that would be very helpful. Either post the additions on this thread, or PM me.

And I reiterate that if anyone knows of a matrix site (alive or dead) that isn't posted above, please let me know.

Thanks!

Over the last few days I have added to this list significantly. Keep those lists of non-included auction sites (dead or alive) rolling in! : )

Also note that the sites that are not marked with red XXXX's should be considered TARGETS. We should work to eliminate these sites. I don't have time to take up such an effort (my ebay reporting already consumes too much time), so it would be great if someone could take up this task.

Good plan. The ranking sites also provide a current and up-to-date list of active matrix scams.

Many of these sites create a new base of customers who then offer new auctios on eBay. By targeting the sites themselves you would cause the auctions to decrease dramatically. So, in a way the campaign you are thinking of would create less work.

I like to refer to these as "Source Campaigns". We had a few of them back in the day, and when the dedicated members work together for a few days it really brings about results.

Here are the typical elements of of successful Source Campaign:

1. Generate a current list of all active matrix sites

2. Report these matrix sites to their:

- Internet Host Provider (many have a TOS against pyramids)

- Pay Companies (same as above)

- Local Government Agencies

3. Target eBay sellers with lots of auctions. Typically 3+ reports on one seller gets them NARU'd, and taking down a single seller can yield a cancellation of hundreds of auctions.

4. Get the word out on these matrix sites by starting a thread with that sites URL as the title. This brings in people looking for that site on a search engine. They soon find out that the matrix site is a big scam and they start telling friends. These newcomers often join and help out MatrixWatch tremendously!

5. Do a web search on the particular matrix sites and find out which forums the owners and loyal customers have been advertising the matrix site. Post information there about MatrixWatch.org and what is really going on.

By the time that #'s 4 and 5 start to become effective, #'s 1, 2, and 3 have already yielded results.

If these matrix sites are truly legal and legitimate, then government agencies and pay companies would not be cracking down on them.

I did try this about a month ago, with 2 sites that have the same uk owner.
I mailed paypal with the url's, owners name and address, PP account names, ebay ID's.

I also mailed the 2 isp's he uses.

To date, no result.

I'm not wondering if the reason why you didn't have any success in closing that guy down is because you were just one person reporting it. It seems if we were able to get a group of people all making the same reports, maybe something would get done ...

Or maybe its just a lack of resources again (like on ebay). I guess the question is, are they really reading all the 'abuse' reports or just passing them by thinking that its just a person making something out of nothing .... (like a personal vandetta towards someone or something ...)

Hi lilrere

Thanks for the submissions. I checked www.matrixmobilez.com and it appears that the page is parked right now, with no real 'matrix' site on it. I will put it on our list though as pending so that we can monitor it moving forward for when they do open (if they do).

In addition, www.discountmobilez.com will get added to our list because they are definitely up and running. I'm not sure there is much happening over there since the next update is scheduled for 3/23/04 (6 months ago???) and most of his lists are empty. My guess is that this site will just disappear when the domain registration fee hits for the year.

Well the site was up last night and when i confronted the owner about it possibly being illegal and subject to a lawsuit he shut it down or pending. What exactly does pending mean? Does that mean that it has plans of coming back or what?

jokach
September 18th, 2004, 07:39 PM
well, we'll mark it pending on our closed matrix site list so that we can monitor it. Basically as I see it, when a web page gets parked (like I noticed that one was), that means that the owner of the domain doesn't have any content to show on the site. Usually you would do that when you first buy the domain and are still creating the site, it just 'holds' or parks the domain. Thats obviously not the case here since the site was up last night ... i know you can switch to parked on most providers pretty quickly from what i've seen .....

we'll keep an eye on it though, thanks!

Yep, i'll go through and check the list, compare it to our list and do two things, first add any that we are missing (we all know its not a complete list to begin with), and second, see what is open and what is not. The original post over there is dated June 2004, should be a good way to see how many have lasted just a few months to show how long these matrix sites really last.

I'll update the main closed matrix site post accordingly once thats complete.

The Closed Matrix Site Master List has been updated on the first post of this thread. We included a series of new sites that hadn't been previously listed and also did some database cleanup to eliminate any duplicates or mis-spellings.

As the post notes, if there are any that are incorrect or if there are any that need to be added, send me a PM with the information.

I don't claim that the list is perfect, we have an automated way of checking them which isn't always 100%, plus some sites that were closed could have opened up again. If you specifically know of any that are incorrect, let me know either in this forum or via PM.

The Closed Matrix Site list has been updated today 11-24-2004.

view it using this link:
http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showpost.php?p=11179&postcount=1

In reviewing all the sites that are still marked open, a very good majority of them haven't been updated in quite some time. Many are advertising 'new items' and 'new lists' but are dated like February or May of 2004. An amusing part is that some of these sites celebrate when a single person cycles like it is some kind of miracle, well, I guess it is a miracle.

Regardless, I urge anyone thinking of joining a matrix to review some of these sites on the list that have been up for quite some time that now have stagnant cycle lists. Review their lists, and notice that only one, two maybe three people cycled, and they are the first persons on the list. Also notice the cycle dates, and join dates if they are gutsy enough to post them, I'm sure in the end you'll realize its a 100% lost investment.

As always, any updates or additions can be PM'd to myself (jokach) so we can add it to the list. If there are any changes (some sites do re-appear, more and more die every week), please let me know as well.

How do you know fr33fones has had no orders? The site has not been updated since the beginning of November and the owner clearly has no interest in the site. However, people are still able to place orders.
My understanding is that sites will be marked as closed on the list when they can no longer be accessed or have a message saying they are closed. There are probably 20+ sites on the list that could be classed as almost closed.

-Merc

December 28th, 2004, 03:31 PM
ALL matrix sites are based on pyramid/ponzi schemes where people at the front of the line are paid by people at the back of the line. For example, in a cycle line of 5, the first person gets paid when 5 others join in. Then the next one gets paid when 5 MORE people pay in. You can see that eventually there won't be enough people to keep paying the people at the front. Every single matrix site on the planet will collapse, leaving lots of people without anything. That is a fact, and because of that fact, you will find that ALL matrix sites are scams and NONE are legit.
