View Full Version : Damion has Tech TV helped Windvds any?
hello
July 5th, 2003, 11:44 AM
Damion, I was just wondering if you had any new signups due to Tech TV on your new website. I kind of felt sorry for you as you didn't really get a chance to promote your own website, Leo was more interested in how illegal ezexpo was and he even got you to agree with him that the matrix world is pretty much a scam. Shelby had posted that your appearance was going to make ezexpo grow so much bigger, but had I not known anything about the matrix world and then watched that TechTV episode, my opinion would be that the entire matrix world is all a bunch of crap, avoid at all costs, danger, stay away, scam etc. I just don't see how Shelby could even think that the episode would be good business for him. In either case, I do wish you well with your new website.

I would actually like to know how it affected both WinDVDs and EzExpo. Has anybody been keeping track? As far as we are concerned, Screensavers listed Matrix Watch in the links at the end of their show summary. You can access this through the small banner I have up on the home page. Anyhow, I checked to see how many people have linked to our site through TechTV since Thursday evening, and I lost count around 400. It is now early Sunday morning. I'm glad to see some interest in what we are doing here, and I am even more pleased that all of those new visitors had the opportunity to read through the intelligent discussion that you all have created. Thanks.

WinDVDs has done a significant increase in sign-ups but not any difference yet in advertising revenues.
I hope to see some more advertising in the near future.
I am not sure how EZ Expo has faired as I have not yet talked to Shelby since my return.

I didn't see it. I did put tracking on the website. Wasn't sure if Damion actually went on as we saw an increase of about 350 hits so I figured he didn't show up.

Shelby,
You say some of the most confusing and contridicting things sometimes.
Damion was on, I saw it myself. He was wearing a short sleve button up shirt with a checker design.
You saw an increase of 350 hits, but you didn't think he showed up? Not quite sure I understand what you are saying.

What I think should concern the EzEzpo customers the most is not how many hits the website received, but rather how many new sign ups. However, I would not exspect EzExpo to benefit from the viewing as the publicity was mainly negative. With eBay out the door for advertisement, the TV spot was the last chance at effective advertisement. With online auctions out of the picture, the press' negative publicity, and now the TV media's negative spin, I would say that all hope for a future customer base is completely obliterated.
In fact, to make things even more exiting, I will be interviewed by KTLA news this week. KTLA airs a syndicated show called "The Cyber Guy" which reaches 48 million viewers worldwide. The show is also aired on 90 of the 100 television networks. You can find more info at www.cyberguy.com. KTLA is the news station for the areas of Los Angeles and its surrounding counties. They will interview me about Matrix Watch and the lawsuit against EzExpo. During the interview I will state that my aim is to target every pay company that aids, abets, or facilitates the matrix sites.

WatchDog, when does the show air, I want to catch it. I checked out the website via the link you supplied, but I could find no reference to your up and coming interview.

They need to record and edit the interview in order to syndicate it world wide. This interview is great news for us, and I think that it will open other media doors as well. I will keep you all posted on the air times, and you will need to check your local news listings for "The Cyber Guy" syndication. You may also email him through his website: www.cyberguy.com. Be sure to give him some good feedback.

I kinda have to say that I think Watchdog is doing this because hes a publicity hound!! Get it..lol... okay lame joke...back to my post...... Do you have the stars in your eyes watchdog? 45 million viewers wow.......... Soon you might actually be popular..
So tell me when is your movie debute? I see this just like the tech tv interview. No body cares and its not going to accomplish anything. I at least have heard of tech tv before I have never heard of cycber guy.
I think you are desperatly just vying for attention to anyone or anything that will hear your so called plight... woe is me, the big bad matrix site did nothing to me, and i couldnt read about what I was getting into, and just because I want attention im going to sue them for...eenie, meenie, miinee, moe- yes thats it illegal lottery. That sounds good.
If any matrix oweners are on here you should also contact this cyberguy and ask to be on the show too, so both sides are heard, and from more than one matrix site. I dont see why they would have a problem with this... Hey maybe you'll even steal that grammy from watchdog.
Well theres probably way to much sarcasm in the post to stay on the board...ahhh but I enjoyed writing it.

The interview with the "Cyber Guy" was conducted this morning at the KTLA studios in Hollywood. The producer said that it will air sometime this month (July). The show will be broadcasted on every a news station in every major city, from Fox to the WB networks and beyond. I will keep you all posted on the showtimes once I get them.

This is a statement for Cyber Guy TV interview concerning EZ Expo and the lawsuit filed by Timothy Schultz.
It is highly recommended that everyone get a copy of the summons presented by Mr. Wilens and his client Timothy Schultz. There are several statements such as those claiming we are a lottery. Even by California law or any other law it is clear we are not a lottery. The summons is ludicrous and we don’t believe any judge would even consider it. The wording is like that written by a 3rd grader. Basically, Mr. Wilens worded his rebuttals so poorly it is comical, with wording such as “…going to have to wait for hell to freeze over….” and “…fig leaf to cover the pyramid scheme or lottery…” Without getting into all of the wacky things Mr. Wilens and Mr. Schultz are claiming, unjustly & untruly, it can be stated that the relentless pursuit and media attention of this pair is nothing short of a crusade.
EZ Expo.com, Inc. continues to operate with many plans for the future. Mr. Wilens is after the pay companies that did business with many sites that have come on the scene since the original EZ Expo was founded by Damion Flynn. The matrix community followed the leaders and grew. Mr. Wilens has stated in an MSNBC article “...if no processor will deal with them for fear of being sued, (EZ Expo) simply won’t be able to do business.” Mr. Wilens was correct that EZ Expo has lost all money it would have made as these funds are being held by the pay companies our customers paid through.
Thus the company was forced to reorganize and become its own entity internationally. In addition two more sites are online and will probably be running by the air date of this show. Look for many more great ideas and incentives to come to the Internet soon.
Sincerely,
Shelby Ware

do not be immature..... Dont put in so much mudslinging and spend more time in on explaining why your not an illegal lotterey instead of just insulting tims lawyers.

Three things are required, they are posted here somewhere. We don't meet the requirements according to the law...

Hey look im only trying to help, I dont even like or support watchdog.. Just saying your not illegal doesnt prove to the 45 million veiwers your not. In fact with your statement your more like the third grader.. Your so busy just calling names and making more promises that your not providing any facts to help your situation. I can tell you now if you go on air with a statement like the one you wrote its not going to go good for you at all.. Get some facts, present them in an adult like manner, and throw out all the name calling bullcrap.
It really bothers me as a matrix lover and supporter that your not acting more professional about this.

Frankly I don't understand why everyone is spending so much time "speculating" on what is gonna happen. The fact of the matter is, Watchdog is creating a "publicity monster" with this lawsuit. You are "trying" to bring as much "negative" publicity to these sites as possible in "hopes" that it will shut down every last one. When in all reality you are "feeding the matrix fire" by these actions. NEGATIVE PUBLICITY IS THE BEST KIND TO HAVE!!! Ask ANYBODY famous or "trying to be famous." When a rap artist wants to make millions he gets arrested. When a politician wants more votes he creates a scandal. This is a tactic commonly used in the media, in our government and anywhere else someone is trying to make money. Negative publicity is why EZ is still in business. I am really curious to see what Watchdog and everybody else's next move is if this lawsuit doesn't work out. I really do not think any of you have thought much about that since you bank so hard on this round working perfectly. I say this with "working" knowledge of the court systems in California, just because it "looks" Iron Clad doesn't mean it is...NEVER put your FAITH in the California Court System. Bottom LIne, if you had brought this lawsuit up in ANY other jurisdiction, I would say you have a better than average chance at winning this. But since it is IN CALIFORNIA, all bets are off. Your chances of winning are just as good as EZ's chance of losing (50/50). I just read recently that this lawsuit was filed here in Cali, and I just about died LAUGHING! With all that has been said and the arrogance some of you post with, you would think this lawsuit was happening in Alabama or somewhere that they "care" about stuff like this. A California courtroom will only look at the impact the dollar amounts have to OC recovery and if it is substantial, your case will move foward. If it has no bearing on OC recovering from bankruptcy, your case will not see daylight. I'm also curious to see what wathdog's "REAL" motive is for this lawsuit. Book, Movie, both, television, radio, whatever the case is we'll know soon enough. You gotta know he's planning something with all the publicity he's about to receive. I highly doubt he'll use it to keep fighting Matrix Sites.....We'll probably see him rapping with P Diddy or something next year. Good Luck!

I think it's a great idea to have Shelby go on the Cyber Guy. If you don't live in SoCal, you probably haven't heard of him.
It's obvious that Tim and Shelby aren't big fans of each other and that would definitely make for an entertaining segment.
Also, maybe the negative publicity is pulling people towards the sites to check them out, but I don't think most people will fall for buying into it when it is presented negatively. If Shelby wants to make some cash, I'd raise you ad rates or get them on a "per click" basis because that's where he would profit from it.

Your correct uwantme,
In that Shelby does need to conduct himself in a better manner to be taken seriously. It would indeed work in matrixwatch's favor if that statement were used.
And mikv,
What do you mean what is Watchdog's "real" motive? He saw a wrong, and is now trying to correct it, and prevent others from being affected.
How can you call him a "publicity monster"? Come on now...
who would ever give a green light to a movie, or book deal? TV and radio are just used to gain more support... not get famous. Who's going to get famous off internet matricies?... Nobody. They are not big enough... not enough people are involved in them.
And one last thing... Ask EZexpo if they believe negative plublicity is the best to have.:D I don't think that they would agree with you.

Milkv,
I don't know if negative publicity will help anyone most of the time. Instead of becoming famous, EzExpo is becoming infamous, not exactly a position that will benefit them.
