Matrix List Calculator Help and Information
The MatrixWatch Team has put together a tool to allow people to calculate their potential cycle times on any matrix list. We think this will assist people in understanding two things, first, that the amount of time it takes for a single person to cycle is longer than they think, and second, to show the rapid growth of the waiting list as people cycle and more people signup.
Here is a quick tutorial to assist anybody in using this new part of our site:
# of NEW signups in last 30 days?
Take a look at the waiting list on the matrix site to see how many new signups/members have been added to the list you are interested in, within the last 30 days. Enter that number in this field.
# of people needed to cycle?
This is the number of new signups needed in order to cycle. Usually this number is advertised as '10-person' list, or 21 people to cycle or something along those lines. Enter that number in this field.
# of people CURRENTLY on list?
Take a look again at the waiting list and see how many people in total are on the waiting list for the product you want. Enter that number in this field.
# of remaining new signups top person on list needs?
The person who is considered 'next to cycle', or at the top of the list, may require less people to signup since they may already have some helpers below them. Take the number of helpers they currently have and subtract from the number of people needed to cycle. Or worst case scenario, just enter the same number here that you put in for question #2 (# of people needed to cycle).
Click the "Get Cycle Time" button.
Its important to understand a few things about the way that this calculator works.
1. This calculator is for INFORMATIONAL purposes only, and does not represent the actual date of cycling on any matrix site.
2. It assumes that the current rate of signups remains EXACTLY as it has been in the last 30 days. This usually doesn't happen because as lists get longer, and more sites appear, signups on older lists start to decline. This means that the cycle dates are actually 'best case scenario'.
3. The results shown are based on mathematical formulas that follow the straight-line matrix model. There could be, and probably is, a small margin of error in it, and in no way do we claim 100% accuracy on it.
Anybody who would like information about the way that we calculate your results, including the formulas themselves, please either start a thread, PM me, or email me at jokach@matrixwatch.org.
