ADMINISTRATIVE UPDATE: These MatrixWatch forums are currently closed, but you can report and discuss suspicious websites & eBay auctions at the new MatrixWatch site (http://www.matrixwatch.com/). If you search for a scam and find that it has already been reported, then flag it to bring it toward the top of the list. Use the MatrixWatch Watchlist to tell others what scams to avoid online.

We have added a new section to the MatrixWatch site called "web links", which will feature URL's from people who have donated at least $5 to matrixwatch each year towards our operating costs. A new block has been added to the main page to allow people to make donations.
The MatrixWatch site receives hundreds if not thousands of click-thru's per day thanks to our high positioning on all the search engines, its an excellent way to send traffic to your site, and to help out the MatrixWatch cause.
RESTRICTIONS
There are restrictions to what links we will feature in our web links section, here are the main restrictions:
1. we will not post URL's of matrix sites or pro-matrix sites or forums. (same applies for any pro-pyramid, MLM, or similar program)
2. we will not post URL's of pornographic sites or sites containing questionable material.
3. One single donation (of $5 or higher) gets one spot on our web links page for one full year, regardless of the amount. Additional links must be cleared with us first.
The MatrixWatch Team reserves the right to decide what URL's will be acceptable for posting on our site if it is not covered above. We also reserve the right to remove any URL at our discretion.
Any questions can be replied to in this post as we will leave it open.

Matrixwatch Donation Drive
You might have noticed the Donation box on the homepage and on the side of our forums page. This is our 2005-expense fundraiser and we hope that you will participate to some extent. We rely solely upon your generosity to continue operation and thus we greatly need your support to stay up and running.
Thanks for your membership, your participation, and your generosity. Every consumer-advocacy group relies upon members like you.
We will keep you updated on our donation progress and let you know when we have reached our goal!

why dont you advertise on matrixwatch?
Part of it is choice, and another part is consequence. In the beginning, we really wanted to stress that we were all about a message, and not capitalizing on an opportunity to make money. At this point thought, it is clear that we are in it for the long haul, and we don't have as many doubters. I'd be willing to start up some advertising (banner) efforts.
Now, because of our vision statement we would need to screen the ads to make sure that MLMs, pyramids, etc. are not advertising. If you have an interesting site that you would like to advertise, then let us know.

i was thinking more of google adsense (http://www.google.com/adsense), you get paid between $0.05 to $5 (in my experience) per click. with the traffic that you guys get, im sure that you would easily make the money that you need to run the site.
EDIT: you can also choose which ads are displayed, so you could eliminate all matrix sites

I'd like to send out a big thanks to those of you who have donated over the past couple weeks. It has been a HUGE help.
Most of the donations that have come in have been for about $5-$10. That is a PERFECT amount, and if everyone could contribute that much then it would really make a difference.

If I keep posting, will I get double my

And when are you going to become a
registered non-profit so I can write

Bump!
Just a reminder that we are approaching the end of the year and Matrixwatch is still short ~$50 on our budget. Please consider donating just a few bucks if you think our cause is a worthy one. We want to keep this site open for all to benefit from!!!
100% of the donations go directly to operating costs, which are all listed here:

The team at Matrixwatch thank all of the people who donated to our efforts this year. We ask you to please support all our donors by visiting their websites located at:
http://www.matrixwatch.org/modules.php?name=Content&file=viewarticle&id=12
It is because of the mass of very small donations from everyone that allows us to continue to provide a high-traffic website full of information that helps consumers avoid fraud on the internet. We look forward to continuing our efforts for many years to come.
Thanks for your support!
