I'm driving home from work, when my cell phone rings. "huh" I think, as I don't recognize the number.

"hello?"

"This is soandso from ebay.com."

To say I was confused for about 15 seconds would be an understatement. Long story short eBay called me for 3 reasons.

#1: To thank me for all the reporting I have done

#2: To tell me that they understand my frustration with not getting violating auctions closed.

#3: To tell me a way for us to help eBay to get better at closing the auctions.

Apparently eBay's complaint system isn't smart enough to take UK and US auctions on the same form. When this happens, a person has to sort this stuff out by hand (I imagine), which leads to slow auction closure times. So, what we need to do is report UK auctions via UK eBay, US auctions via US eBay, and so on and so forth for each country we find auctions in.

This is a pain in the tail as you could imagine. I am going to modify our search and destory programs to give us a seperated list.

IMPORTANT POINT OF THIS POST: Anyone reporting an eBay auction needs to verify it gets reported via the right eBay site!

Nuff said....I guess I have some work to do.

Oh yeah....and even if the item is listed on US ebay (i.e. the URL has the US ebay rather than the UK eBay), but it still lists the item for sale in GBP currency....it means report it as to UK eBay.

Maybe they do care!!! I guess we can make things work to help close these auctions down sooner. If thats the key, lets do it!
