I will be sporadically checking up on these forums, but have to devote more time to legal issues. We have three very dedicated moderators and they will "patrol" the forums. Now, a few of you have taken advantage of the free speech here at Matrix Watch and used it as an opportunity to insult one another and post recklessly, thus littering these forums with content that does not breed respect for you, or lend to the objectivity of the forums. Henceforth from today, if you insult, use profanity, spam, or are otherwise disrespectful, my Moderators will send me a Private message with your screen name as the subject. I will see the name, ban you for 6 months, and ask no other questions.

it would be nice if we got a warning or two...cuz sometimes i kno tempers flare on accident...and sometimes people dont mean to insult other people on purpose at all, but others might take it differently.
just to being curious, whats to prevent the person from getting another name?

Attention all dedicated members,
I received a letter from the Attorney General of the state of California and I would like all of you to contact him and let him know about the matrix sites as well. Share as much information as you have. Also, contact the attorney general of your state, and the state that different matrix sites are in. At this time we have a window to arouse their interests as well.
You can access all of this contact information and more through the "File a Complaint" link in the Main Menu. Please file a complaint with the other organizations as well.

may i ask what you wrote to the attorney general, in general? like if you told him to just look into it, or to shut it down. cuz i'd like to give him views on both sides only if he is neutral and not looking for a way to shut it down already.

If you want to inform the Attorney Genrals office of your state, I urge you to do it. If you feel that the Matrix sites are Legal or not.
Write them and voice your opinions pro or con, I just recomend that you do it in a professional maner. Type it up in a word processor program, spell check it, grammer check it. Read it a few times and see if it relays what you think and mail it in.
All correspondence with any of these offices is confidential, just so no worrys about anyone finding out..
If you want this is a Link to the F.T.C. complaint form page.

While I was away, the moderators reported two members. The first few messages in this thread gave warning about the kind of behavior reported. The following member has been placed on six-month suspension:
matrixfriendly: Unappropriate Signiture, and posting very insulting personal attacks which are uncalled for. This forum is to be a professional one where issues are discussed and debated intelligently. This goes for everyone. Please be aware that lawyers and government officials browse our forums.
