Here's an interesting thought...if the people are buying the ebooks and getting a spot in line for free, then why do they buy multiple spots on the list, but keep receiving the same book?
If they are coming for the ebooks, then why keep buying the same one for different lists??
If you go to Barnes and Nobel, do you buy 10 of the same books if you were to get in some line??

I understand your point about the e-books and buying of multiple spots but that doesnt even apply to my jewelry scenerio because members have the option of different colors, sizes, and styles with or without the same free gift invovled. they it is plausible they would want to buy more than one or even several if they wanted them for gifts or just different ones..

...but about why people buy many ebooks/spots, its not the matrix site's problem, its up to the consumer to decide...how bout this:why do some children want to buy certain cereal? for the little Nemo toys or whatever they give away in there...any why do children want several boxes of the SAME cereal? cuz they want more of the same toys, or maybe the whole collection. i dunno, but it legal to do that.

not to mention different ebooks are given for different lines at many matrix sites.

yeah, I was going against the sites that are selling ebooks and have multiple people on their lists all buying the same thing over and over again...

well, regardless what ebooks they sell, the buyer's motive is probably most of the time going for the prize, however, that is legal so far. we will have to see on the judge's decision whenever the suit actually goes to court.

Is there a law stating that you can only sell someone an item only once! What does that law state actually. Would you happen to have the link so that I could check this out.

I am a matrix supporter too, but you understand what hurley is saying.. No one said it was agianst the law to sale one of the same thing many times, just that why would someone buy the same downloadable e-book many times(if all they had to do is download once to have as many copies as they would need) if they werent buying into the matrix for the free gift. And I agree with her. Anyone with half a brain would know you only need the e-book once, so the only reason they would be buying the same e-book over and over agian is for the free prize. You know this is true too. It may not sound good but it is for the most part and in almost all cases true.

I even have to argue that is a different situation. You get different subs not the same sub when you buy and you buy subs because you have to eat and maybe its what you like..
However you dont need the same e-book multiple times for any valid reason I can think of...

That is correct about the sub issue.
However who are we to decide who wants to purchase more than one eBook....
Once awhile back, I purchased several of the same book on Elvis...Needless to say I am a fan, and for whatever reason I felt compelled to buy the same book, though that was many years ago, when I was in the Marine Corp....

come now tcb you know im a big matrix supporter, but that example isnt really the same either. Those where physical books. I collect x-files stuff and have many of the same books etc. But an e-book you do not need to buy multiple copies of. You can make them yourself, or even send as many copies to yourself as you want. There really is just no reason to pay$100+ for the same e-book and they are not really a collectors item.. Now your right I cannot speak for everyone but basically Im right and while I know its kind of a neg. for the matrix community I also think site owners should take it as constructive critisism and get out of selling e-books and into better items.

I agree with you. I suppose that was a poor analogy. But still regardless, people if they want have a right to purchase as many items of something as they want. It is there choice and not for us to decide.
Also, I have drifted away from the ebook thing when I created my desktop wallpaper site, but I assume the same argument could be made there as to why someone would by multiples of the same wallpaper to get on the same list. Of course I tried to limit that by offering different wallpapers to get into the same list.....
Unfortunately it is still built on the matrix model, and someone will always find fault with it no matter what I do......

Ok, just for the argument. Say they were giving the ebooks away to "whoever" in order for the person receiving the gift to be able to sell the ebooks they would have had to be bought multiple times in order for everyone to have resell rights. This is just for arguments sake.

ok..how bout this analogy. lets say that fry's electronics or any other store are selling this game and with this game you can get a free tshirt and an action figure and the programmers can autograph it. i'm a big fan of this game (fyi, its warcraft 3 for those who care.) i'd buy several copies of this game, even tho i only need 1 to play myself. y? cuz i want several autographed shirts and several of those cool action figures...
...my pt is that people want the "free stuff" or increaes the chance of getting the free stuff, so maybe they buy the ebook not because they want several ebooks, but they want several "free stuff"
get it? good. lol, j/p
