I am writing to you in regards to an “internet matrix scam” of which I have become a victim. The website in question is www.gotmatrix.com. In August of 2003 I was drawn to this website in the belief that I would be able to receive electronics, or even cash, for a minimal, up-front investment. The site explained that the process was 100% legal and that all I had to do was put a small amount of money down and I would be added to a “matrix list” to receive the gift I desired.
In return for my entry fee I did receive e-Books. The matrix-site owner assured me through the instructions on the site that I was purchasing this item, and that the entry into the matrix was a “free-gift” incentive. I later learned that the e-Books was not worth the $72.50 I put down, and it is clear that by selling an item the owner of this matrix site is attempting to circumvent laws against pyramid scams.
At this time, the website www.gotmatrix.com is defunct and no longer shows up when a web browser is pointed at it. I have limited contact information for the individuals who owned this website.
After searching for more information, I realized that the matrix sites are not as legitimate and “legal” as was promised to me. My search led me to MatrixWatch.org. There, I found several informative resources on the matrix site. In closing, I feel that I have been unlawfully scammed out of my money, and thus I am deferring to your offices for help in this matter. The owner of this "scam" site has run off with our money which he acquired illegally. Thank you for your time.
