A new auction fraud website has creeped up on March 15, 2005 called www.reportauctionfraud.com. Its looking to become the largest database of fraudulent auction users on the internet, although there is a cost to get information from it, and it appears to accept information from all over the world (not just the UK where it is based).

It seems this is a step in the right direction to help cut back on the amount of auction fraud out there, but my opinion is that ebay, yahoo, ebid, etc still need to do more themselves to eliminate fraud, since theres only so much that concerned citizens (like the watchdogs!) can do .........

Here is what is posted on their home-page:

This website has been specifically designed to address the growing problem of online Auction Fraud which affects both individual members of the public and businesses alike.

On average 12.5 million transactions were completed on auction sites worldwide every single day during 2004, of which 250,000 were fraudulent.
That`s 250,000 auction fraud victims per day !!

Hopefully they will make some difference, guess time will tell.

This was the idea that I have had for the past year.

I will be watching this organization very closely to see if they go about it in similar way in which I thought to. If not, then get ready for a competitor to enter the market!!
