Whoa! How the heck did you find that one out peterdragin?
Already up for sale huh? Guess it's not that good; or his new site is going to be great!
I wonder if it will sale. I would guess that it would not; except if a current member thought it would be a good investment. I do not think that enough people know of it (however 23,000 members is not too shabby).
However, I would not be a good judge on this topic... this is just my speculation; I do not follow websites for sale on ebay. Maybe they sell like crazy:)

A site like this might possibly become a good asset, but I saw that the advertising clients are not included in the sale. Thus, the site does not start pulling in revenues until the new owner gets the advertising going again. WinDVDs is primarily a marketing site and the only reason it was mentioned on TechTV is because of the EzExpo interview. WinDVDs was a sub-point of that whole feature.

Anyone know why he is selling it? I thought it was a good business..

Maybe he was hoping the the TechTV interview would boost his advertising revenue, and maybe that did not happen.

Based on how much he was talking up this site earlier I can't see many reasons for him to try and sell it right now, unless it is not making any money at all.

I am selling it because I have a new site that I believe will boost a lot quicker, and make a lot of people happy.

I cannot say much about it right now because I am still waiting on a patent on intellectual property. I will be writing the code (starting in about 2 weeks) and it will take me about 6-8 weeks to write the code (estimate).

WinDVDs is doing well, not as well as I planned, but it would be a good business for someone that wants to make an extra $1,000 - $1,500 a month. I am sure someone that advertised it would make more - I just do not have the time right now. If it does not sell, I will continue to run it until I get to a point that it is overwhelming me.

TechTV did boost the membership and advertising revenue - not a whole lot, but a little.
While the clients names and emails for previous advertisers will not be given with the site, they will continue to come in. I have went to the post office and received a money order for advertising and a note on what they want the email to say - without any prior notice. I also have others that email me from time to time to secure advertising for a certain day as I do not send out multiple emails in one day as I do not want to overload people's email boxes (plus I think the advertising is more effective when you do not have 3 or 4 back to back).

Anyways - ask any more questions and I will try to check in and answer them.

This is a question for Damion. How long did it take you to colour your hair purple? Just curious.

5 minutes.
I just mixed up a package of grape Kool-Aid with a cup of water and shampooed it in real quick, lol...

I dont get the purple hair comment? Is it because of your avatar or is there really a pic of you with purple hair somewhere?

Damion, thanks for the info, I am off to the store to get me some of that.

As for Uwantme, every time Damion replies to anything he is always so cool, plays guitar and his hair is beautiful. Just had to know how he got his hair to look like that.

My hair is not purple in real life uwantme - he is referring to my avatar.

I do play guitar in real life which is why I went with the purple-haired avatar - it had a guitar.
You can see a real picture of me on the matrixforum pics section.

Thats cool... Maybe you should really dye your hair purple it would be neat for a while...

Anyway how is your auction going? I know it still has quite a few days left but I didnt see any bids...

As I am sure you know - most auctions do not really do much until the last 2 days. I hope to see a change on it, but if it does not sell I will not worry about it. I will continue to run it and get it larger to gain more name recognition - then when it is huge, try to resell it again and people can look and say - da**, I wish I would have gotten that site when it was only $5,000.

Anyways - I am not sweating it. If it sells, it does - if not, I will run it until it gets to large for me to handle on a day to day basis because by that time I will have my new site up and running and I expect it to take off considerably quicker.

Damion, depending on some logistics, I may be interested in buying it. Can you produce financials for operating results to date?

Also, did you produce a business plan when you started it? I'd like to see some specifics on competitors, industry, operating environment, etc. Send me a PM and we can touch base.
