I tried to log on to the site today and it comes up with a funky log in homepage for an administrator.

Can anyone check this out and let me know what it is?

Thanks,
Alex

I think your observation is correct that its the homepage for the site administrator (like a cpanel login). We'll have to keep an eye on it because they might just be moving hosts for one reason or another.

Anyone else have any information on this?

I'm getting the same "admin" screen. Odd. Did the owner bother to email those involved with Goraks?

Nope. Allthough I have emailed him about 5 times now with still no response. I am in the process of filing a report with my local police department.

Good, your making a wise move. I don't expect to see this site return is he's made no attempt to contact any of the members.

Let us know how you make out.

I reported their existence and method to lowesthosting admins.

Let's see what happens this time...

Does anyone have any idea how long the lists are and if there is even anybody signing up anymore? Their product list looks a little outdated by current standards, and the lists are not available to the public, nor do they have any forums .......... my guess is its stagnant

I check the site about everyday and it looks like they are still getting new members. They just posted the Alienware PC for purchase a month or two ago and it already has about 13 people.

You can check the list size by going to the services page, then click on any item. It will show how many people in line and if they have cycled yet.
Their DJ page is still down. There has never been any explanation from the owner, nor does he return any emails for questions. Try it and let me know what ya get. Ask him a question about the cycle time and see if you get a response. It may take you about 10-15 emails to get a reponse. Ohhh what a wonderful "business owner", HAHAHAHA!
www.goraks.com is a joke, scam, fraud, whatever you want to call it.

If goraks's Alienware list only has 13 members, and its been there for a month or two ........ its just about stagnant in my mind ... Punch those numbers into the matrix list calculator and give yourself a good laugh lol lol

Regardless, good advice Alex ... stay away!

HAHAHAHAHA!
Guess you wouldn't cycle for a few years.
And to think I cycled over a year and a half ago and still have not received my mixer yet.
Those poor people have no idea.
Good luck on trying to get a hold of the goraks.com owner as well. May be about the same time frame to cycle for a product as to get an email back, maybe I shouldn't be too mad then.
Damn that's funny...

Can someone check www.goraks.com site? It looks to be down again, this time it says "expired domain".

Do you think this is for good this time?

If the domain has expired, more than likely they are gone for good. My guess is that the 'disappearance' a few weeks ago was actually a test run to see what the effects of closing the site down would be. (Greg at Gotmatrix did this several times as well).

Its unfortunate that as many people got ripped off on their scam as they did, but this is a pure example of the life-cycle of a matrix site .........

We'll add it to the closed matrix site list ....

Thanks for all the help!
I will post any further news or if the site pops back up.
Also let ya know what happens with the local police, hopefully they will still pursue it.

There are about a dozen other places you can (and should) file a complaint. See our "File a Complaint" section. Trust me when I say that the more complaints you file, the better off you are.

Son of a !
goraks.com is back up, with an update from th 14th. I was so hoping not to see this site back up and running. Do people really not care that this guy is taking peoples money? If I lived in WA the problem would be resolved very quickly.
