Disappointing though. They can sense the dark cloud hovering around their site, it is only a matter of time before their troubles worsen.

While I feel that it's an established site, earning much profit, the nature of the business isn't exactly the most stable, or safest, to be involved in anymore.

If someone purchased that site, and had a clear policy regarding what types of businesses the company would provide services for, then it's a great buy.

From PayRequest --

"We are selling because we run a web design business and business has been overwhelming lately. We recently faced a very hard decision - either stay with the web design business or put all of our resources on Pay Request. The web design business was our original venture, and I don't see ever giving that up. I feel Pay Request deserves attention, and I don't feel we can give it that attention. With some additional advertising this site can really take off. I see so much potential. Its a sound business model, and the programming alone is worth the price of the auction."

Yes it is a good business, and has a lot of potential with the right person behind it that can concentrate solely on the site it will go along way........

I emailed them and asked why they were selling it and this was the response I got:

We do not have the time or resources to continue running the business. It takes time and dedication, and I don't feel we are giving the site the attention it deserves. With some advertising (we have done none up to this point) this can go very far. I see a lot of potential. We would work the buyer for as much time is needed to make the transition seemless.

Thank you,
Pay Request Support

Also I thought pay request was started with the sole purpose of being the payment processors for matrix sites.. So I wonder if this will also change with new ownership...

I do not believe their explanation is completely true. Something is going on. The wording of their auction is a little vague too:

"This is VERY important feature of this auction. You will actually RECIEVE the remaining payments due from our merchant account who processes our credit card payments for the month of July. You will GET these funds for the months that we have owned the web site. This will be used by you to pay off withdraws as they are requested. (undisclosed amount) This can also be used to pay off this auction (it should cover it and more)"

Notice, they never say that the buyer will receive the July payments IN July, or August, etc. For all we know, their account could be frozen and the buyer will not see the money for another 6 months. Who knows?

I confused if pay request was the payment processor who would have froze their account? I mean usually its the payment processors who freeze the matrix sites accounts and hold the money but I have never heard of the whole payment processor having all their funds frozen..

Quote --

"Funds given to the buyer this means thats the buyer will recieve the account that holds the funds equivalent to the funds in each account. Meaning, for every $1 in PayRequest, there is a $1 in this account. (if that makes sense).

No funds are frozen, nothing is wrong with the business. Please do not make assumptions."

Payrequest is still ran off another processor. I am not sure but I think it was/is Ginix.

Anyone know for sure which processor was behind Payrequest?
