This is amazing. Check out how much they actually were paid:
Ford was accused of accepting $55,000; Crutchfield was accused of taking $12,000; Bowers was accused of taking $11,500; Newton was accused of accepting $4,500, and Dixon was accused of taking $9,500.
That's it? You'd figure that they had taken in a couple million each. I can't believe that these guys threw away their reputations and careers, all for between ten and fifty grand. So stupid.

Funny thing is Newton was viewed as this young idealistic honest guy until yesterday. John Ford has been in and out of investigations for years. He probably has made millions. He was already under investigation for basically rigging a Tenncare contract for some lobbyist and supposedly made a nice penny off that. He is also accused now of threating to kill a witness, well that witness happened to be an under cover FBI agent.
Anyway, they tried to scam the people that elected them and they got busted.
