How come MW advertises scams? Usually on left there is a column titled Google Adsense (Adds By Google). One of the links was Billionaires Secrets; another one was for HYIPS and another for Home Business. On one hand MW is against scams but on the other hand you are promoting them. This doesn't make sense. I realize MW doesn't control those ads, but I think is time to change the content or sponsors. I can see someone clicking on one of those links thinking it's legit, only to find out after losing lots of money that it was a scam. I think with all the good and hard work you people do at MW might go out the window with one click to the scam advertising. It would be a shame. This also reminds me of the saying, "Don't do as I do, Do as I say".

Always a work in progress, and one that will probably require the attention of our dedicated members here.

Jokach or one of the others will probably fill everyone in on the details, since teh adsense is a fairly new addition here.

websurfer03101, thanks for your kind reminder. We have notice this problem and are working on them.

It is unfortunate that we need to add "Google Adsense", but we need the funds to continue running this consumer forum.

Thank You people for all your work at MW. I'd hate for anybody to get scamed. I'd hate even more If MW wasn't here anymore

Thanks. :)

We are trying to identify scammy links and block them from adsense, but like WD said it is a work in progress.

I know Jokach wished it was easier to pick the kind's of adsense links.

Perhaps we could form a Google Adsense team here at MW. Whenever one of the team members sees a scam being advertised on Adsense, it will be quickly reported and removed from our site, BUT ALSO reported to Google.

It might be a creative way to minimize the amount of scamming on the web. Who knows, it could end up like our initial eBay reporting did (with eBay banning matrix sites from advertising there).

Just an idea.

As everyone has stated already, we are working to improve Google Adsense and eliminate the fraud and scam ads on the site. If you know the way that Adsense works, it sends specific ads based on our content, but also based on your geographic location (originating IP), which means that the ads that I see on the east coast, may not be the same ads seen on the west cost, which may not be the same ads seen in the UK or in Hong Kong. This is where the problem comes in.

Since we are working to filter these out, we appreciate anybody who can report an ad to us that is for a scam, or is fraudulant. Send them via PM to jokach, or to jokach@matrixwatch.org. The place where we have the biggest problem right now is the ad on the home page.

Thanks for your patience and understanding on this!
