View Full Version : Illegal or just wrong?

I'm glad to see that alot of the matrix sites are starting to shut down. I got sucked into rsient from an ebay auction like alot of people, thinking that $45 would get me a sweet set of golf clubs. After asking for a refund and exchanging a few emails with the operator of the site, I filed a complaint with Paypal and got my money back, but from the looks of things, I'm one of the lucky few. I've checked out a few posts here and it seems like the issue shouldn't be if matrix are legal or not, they are just plain wrong. Come on, does anybody who starts one of these things really believe they are operating a legitimate business? The operators are trying to use the obvious combination of a system that grows exponentially and preying on the fact that people have the belief that they can get "something for nothing". Karma sucks, don't it?

did you find out the info about rsient on your own or did I give you the info? I was really fighting hard against them and emailed hundreds of people who bought into those auctions.
I hope that I helped you out. There were only a few of us emailing people but it seemed to help a lot of people.

I think I paid $1.00 for the info on an ebay auction and bought into it. Then I looked at the matrix and realized I was about number 1,000 on the waiting list just to get on the matrix and figured out the math. 10,000,000 people would have to buy a $45 ebook for me to get those clubs, and I figured there couldn't possibly be that many people who would be as stupid as I was, so I asked for a refund several times over about a week and got some stall tactics and reassurances that I would cycle in a few months. I figured that this guy knew that Paypal was a big key to his business, so I filed a complaint with them. Rsient must have been a member in good standing with Paypal back then, because I got my refund pretty quick. Not quite the end of story, though. I started looking on ebay for auctions similar to the one I had fell for and there were hundreds at the time, and some people were paying quite alot of money just to get the website link. I tried to contact quite a few buyers and sellers, but I got tired of being told to "f*&# off" and "get a life". I think that people don't realize that not only are people getting scammed by matrix sites, some of them are paying for the info on an ebay auction before they even see the matrix. Just think of all the money that people have lost who didn't even sign up for the matrix. It looks like ebay has cracked down some on these auctions and I'm glad. Matrixes are a few steps below Amway, in my opinion.

don't feel bad...there are lots of us that thought they were going to get a good deal from a little investment. I was really against the usage of ebay for the advertising and peterdragin and I and others reported a lot of these auctions to ebay and most are gone now. Rsient and it's offshoot, prizemonkey.com, are gone now and most people that paid within 30 days got their money back.
It was funny how many people told me to get a life and stop messing with their auctions and a lot of people made money on selling the links.
WD, thanks for the compliment. I just want to be helpful, keep this thing off ebay and get it to a point where if they all want to go around with these things on their own, then fine, but just don't mislead unsuspecting people.

I already spend way too much time on ebay, divorce would be in the offing if I took on the task of ebay watchdog. It does irritate me that something as pure and wholesome as ebay can be used to proliferate a fraud like a matrix scam. All sarcasm aside, it just goes to show what a powerful medium ebay, and the internet in general, is. What will the next scam on the web be? That would be a good poll...

Better not forget about the matrix too quick because they will be around in force even after the courts decide(for or against). Either way they will be here. They can never be snuffed completely out.

Matrixfriendly,
You are right about that. Scams always have a way of finding a new dark alleyway to hide.

Ouch! You mean you are just going to go ahead and make the judges decision for him? Maybe someone should let him know this issue has already been decided.
