I live in Southern California and last night, Arnold declared that he would run for Governor. I've heard a lot of opinion about this on NPR, but I think it is cool that he chose to run. What do you all think about this? Is this big news in any of the other states out there?

I think he would be a good choice, not so much for his ideology, but for the pure fact that he has lived much of his adult life associated with both sides. Since his wife is a relative of the staunch Democratic Kennedy clan, and he himself a self proclaimed Republican I can only imagine what some of the discussions have been at family reunions.

Yet his marriage remains one of the few bright stars in the otherwise divorce laden world of hollywood. Arnold must show a great deal of conviction to not let his ideals infringe on his personal life, and that of his wife as well.

I say Go Arnold! .....but then I live in a state that elected a former pro wresler who changed his last name to a street in LA... :)

Good grief.. She may have a tough time running against her "boss" though-- Hustler magazine owner Larry Flynt!

LOL I agree...

You would think that the state could put some sort of screening process in place; however, it makes for interesting conversation! I say go Arnold!

I understand if you need to delete this post later for content but this quote has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever heard

""If more guys had orgasms, they'd be less violent,'' said Carey "

To think the solution to world peace was just that easy.......

And I heard that Arnold was a "moderate-Republican". Now, just exactly what does that mean---Specifically? (economics, social issues, etc.)? Anybody know?

It seems like there are about 300+ people running. If I had $3500, I'd run in the race too!;) Perhaps I could start an eBay auction. Then again, I think a candidate has to be at least 35.

I think Arnold said that he was conservative on fiscal issues and liberal on social issues.

The porn star would be quite the candidate, and at 22 probably one of the youngest candidates ever.

Watchdog, I believe the age limit is only 18 in Cali. You can run, go for it! Porn star Mary Carey is 22. Now here is a great program she wants to create if elected, the"Porno for Pistols '' program, where gun owners can swap their weapons for X-rated films. This program sounds promising, and far less guns on the street. LOL

Being your neighbor to the east-- it's the talk of the town. I think he scares many republicans by some of his statements he made about getting more businesses back to CA but then he also talked about more social programs. Kind of like pandering to both sides. Pretty smart of him. I find it hard to believe you can be conservative and liberal at the same time if your a politician. I know some make it work- but it can't be easy. But hey- CA would never elect him if he wasn't moderate. I think he might add some values and he seems to be a nice breath of fresh air. Plus maybe it will stop some of you CA people from moving over here. LOL

I could drive over to the courthouse and file for governor tommorrow, as I think that is the deadline. Over 500 people have filed, but only about 30 have paid the $3600. Anyone have an extra few grand to donate to the "WatchDog for Governor" campaign. I would make Arzel head of economics, Peterdragin the head of police, and Maxpower the head of my campaign committee.

Even though I don't live in CA, I think he should win. I think he truley wants to help. He already has fame and money. So I think he would do good.

Can't really lose by electing Arnold. If you decide you don't like the job he's doing, just have another recall election and replace him!

I'm not too familiar with the California laws, but wouldn't he only be in office through the end of the current term of Davis? Wouldn't that only be about a year or 2? If that is the case, then he would have to run again soon. He would really have to work hard to make sure he gets reelected that soon. That is also another plus, because you either get a hard working person for a year, or you replace him after only a short time.

Sorry for rambling on, but I think Arnold is a good choice.

In reality, I think that whoever gets elected will get rid of the Vehicle license fee, which is the best short term goal. That will be the best part of the recall because no one gets anything else done up there anyways.

Yesterday it was the sexual harassment allegation, now the Hitler worshipping story......this election is truly entertaining. :D Go Arnold!
