Figured that it would be a good idea to provide the public with instructions on how to report the phisher scams.

I know that you have to click the 'full headers' option, and then forward it as an inline text to the proper people.

Where do they send it to (list of various emails)?

There are too many Phishing scams going on to list all of them. We encourage folks to post the email (with person info removed) here:

When they do that, Matrixwatch staff will investigate the proper email address to forward the email to (and will post that info). If you are not willing to post the email, you will have to do the investigation yourself (i.e. if the Phishing scam is related to Paypal, go to Paypal's website and surf the help section to find the appropriate info.

spoof@paypal.com to report

I have reported a lot.....
The easiest clue that they are fake is they will not address you by your actual name
Real PayPal emails always do

Be carefull, just clicking on the link in the Phishing email can try to install a trojan downloader or HTML exploit etc as well as sending you to a Fake site

I run Kaspersky(Extended Definitions) which blocks these but I don't
recommend you do that

I also like to scroll my mouse over the links in the email, and then look at the bottom-left side of my screen to see where the link is REALLY pointing. It always ends up being some numerical URL, or some otherwise mysterious address.

One trick they lilke to do though is to have at least one real link, usually through a logo at the top of the email. But the links that they want you to click are always pointing somewhere else.

Why don't we hear about PayPal tracking down these clowns through their webistes and having them arrested?
