I ordered from MyDV about a month ago and have subsequently read up about the company, I have not yet recieved my PSP from MyDV, and my debit card has not yet been charged. I'm going to cancel the order but don't feel secure that this will mean that they don't actually charge my card. I want to inform my bank that this payment may be made and ask that they do not allow it since it will be cancelled. I doubt very much that MyDV will be the company name that appears in my statement, so I just wondered what company name/location/any info at all, appears on other peoples statements so I can give the bank some information?
Thanks in advance for any advice

i was billed under the company name mydv , but after chasing up a refund the money was paid back under the name nepco ?, although they have not reimbursed the full amount , I'm still out of pocket by £7.40, by what seems like a favourable currency conversion rate on their behalf

You are quite fortunate that they have not taken the money. In most cases they take the money on the day you ordered the goods. This could mean they have no order record for you anyway.
My debit came through under the transaction name of MYDV 207-6994270. The refund I got came thtough as RETURN NEPCO
I am not expert credit cards and how they work. However, I was told this by my credit card company.
Once you have confrimed the transaction through the Mydv website they can take the money at anytime and the credit card company can't stop it because it is a valid authorised transaction.
One way though which may cause you a bit on inconvenience but would give you peace of mind is to cancel your card or report it as lost. A new card can be issued and any balance transfered. That way if there is an attempt to withdraw any money it will fail as the card no longer exists.

Sarah - if your credit card has not yet been debited, if I were you I would IMMEDIATELY cancel the card so thet myDV cannot debit you. Phone your CC first and make sure that this will indeed stop you being debited. If you have any chance of not being yet charged, take it. Endless anxiety will come your way otherwise.

Hi Sarah
I have also recently ordered a PSP from MyDv....... when i say recently i mean abouth a month ago. They did take payment from my mastercard which i am in the process of trying to sort out however in answer to your question on my credit card statement it did the company name MYDV which my credit card company were all to aware off. They new exactly what i was going to say as soon as i mentioned the company name. Hope all works out for you.
