I ordered 2 psp's in november (5th and 10th) The first one arrived today and the other one will be here on wednesday.
Just thought i'd let you's all know that there is some hope.
Please note although Mydv said they would email me with my tracking numbers once they were despatched, they have not done so. I got mine from calling Head office and asking for them. MYDV seems to have some serious communication issues, thats all.

Just though I would also mention that I have also received my camcorder which I order from MyDV.co.uk. I ordered it on 28/11/05 and received the camera on 7th December 2005. I was quite amazed to see it arrive after reading all the reviews on here. The only thing is that it isn't the model I ordered it is from Asia but still has english instructions. Unfortunately I will never be able to register it to the UK and the warranty is probably null and void but I am just thankful I have got something, I will never use MyDV again, it was too stressful.
Just thought I would let everybody know.

Interesting....no one has reported NOT receiving their goods. What made you think you wouldn't receive them?

I'd wait another week or two before I get too worked up. Most shipping takes 4-6 weeks, not taking into account international shipping.

Mydv website doesn't state it takes 4-6 weeks. I believe it states 3-5 working days and/or 7-10 working days.

Agreed. The website is misleading customers. I don't know of any company online who will deliver goods in 3-5 days (unless I pay a high fee for quick shipping).

Where in my post did i say it/they were not going to arrive exactly?
The reason i posted was to give people the dates i ordered and recieved mine so they would have some idea of the shipping times. I'll not bother in the future if it gets to you that much.

Hayley:
I just wanted to clarify the data being posted. Many customers are coming to Matrixwatch and getting the impression that goods are not being received. I have yet to hear a report confirming such a thing. We appreciate your input here, so please don't take offense to my comments. Everyone is allowed their free speach here at Matrixwatch!
MYDV is clearly misleading customers in a half dozen different ways, which is not acceptable.

Despite cancelling my order for two PSPs from MYDV.co.uk on the 17th November, I received two today, 12th December. Both boxes had been opened, they were Japanese imports with no English manual (although this was easily downloaded via the internet) and several items that should have been included in this "Value Pack" were missing. - The power lead was also incompatible with use in the UK.
Items missing are:
PSP Memory Stick Duo 32MB
PSP Headphones with Remote Control
PSP Soft Case and Hand Strap.
Although I was invoiced for the sum of £339.98, my credit card has been debited in the sum of £366.60.
My original order was placed on the 9th November, 2005 - the invoices with consoles are dated 12/8/2005 - I think I've been well and truly done! A burnt Christmas turkey in fact. :head:
I have been unablet to make contact this company since first placing my order. (One way emails only, no telephone contact - box full, and cut off from their "live chat" after waiting 2hrs 18 mins and getting down to 4th in queque.
PS There appears to be evidence that all the items missing from the parcel could have been removed in transit. So I lose out all ways - because how do I prove that to a company that can't be contacted and seems totally disinterested?

You are the second person (I believe) to report getting a refund AND getting your item. Quite frustrating, because now you must either return your PSPs or request that the money be un-refunded. If you do not do one of these two, you are technically defrauding MYDV, which they can then take action upon.

If this customer plans to send it back to MyDv, should he seek to get the rest of his refund first?

I disagree, at least in opinion. It is not this person's fault that the items were sent to him. He requested the refund from the company, and they issued it, and then did NOT take the time to update their records, and sent the items anyway. It is only fraud if they purposely tried to get the items without paying, but he in no way ever intended for them to send the items. In this case, it is mydv's loss, in my opinion, and it is about time they lose are their own game.

The refund could have been requested after the shipment process went through though.
Furthermore, MyDv could have the right to reverse the refund if the PSP isn't shipped back. For example, if I order a shipment of books from, say, Amazon.com, and then request a refund, Amazon will ask that I refuse the shipment. That is the standard protocol. If I don't have them shipped back to Amazon, then they have the right to reverse my refund.
Keeping this item is not only borderline theft, but it might also create future problems between this customer and MyDv.

Well I would like to return my PSPs - on getting a refund*, but as the company hasn't replied to my emails (seemingly the only way to contact them) and there is no postal address - how can you return them?
Where do you get the postal address from? A returns number or anything else? If someone can furnish me with ways of contacting them, and I've tried various ways (I'm in the UK) I would be eternally grateful.

PS. Perhaps this post isn't very clear - *this should really read IF I get a refund, which to date I have not! Sorry! :shake:

Is there a return address or "sender" section on the shipment box or invoice? That seems odd if not, since there must be some way for them to have the packages returned to them if the buyer is not around to accept it.

I am NOT, repeat NOT going to the expense of shipping something, which incidentally, was supposedly bought in the UK (their con, not mine) to the United States of America.
I am a pensioner, have saved for nearly six months to purchase these useless items and certainly cannot afford overseas postage, or having to buy a memory stick etc separately, so the flipping things work.
So, unless mydv.co.uk pay for postage, refund or not, they won't get them back. :nono:

Do they have a stated return policy? If so, does it say anything about who is responsible for shipping?

The only way to find out how to return items to mydv.co.uk is to contact them - I can't find anything else. As they ignore all emails sent to them, that way seems to be a blind alley.
However, I have sent them another email (probably go the same way as the others - lost in cyber space) asking what their returns policy is. Will let you know if they reply.

This is a difficult situation. I agree that the item should be returned, but in now way feel that the customer should put himself/herself out in order to return the item. I suggest you continue to try and contact them through email in order to have them pay for return of the item.
As deserving as myDV should be to be out on this, it goes against the ethical standards we have in place.

HI Storic
i too received my PSP yesterday after waiting since 07 November and like you have been overcharged . When i opened the box i noticed also that all the items you mention where also missing . I contacted Bill Desilva the shipping manager who telephone number was on my invoice and he said that he had no control over this as he sent what MYDV had asked him and that was PSP console and not the Value pack who like yourself paid for . He told me to contact MYDV which i did and a guy called Jack told me that he will arrange for mr to have these items within the next 7-10 days ( yeh heard that one so many times ) so lets hope they stick to their word but this has completely put me off ardering from the internet completely , if i cant buy locally , i wont be getting , considering this item is now available in most Game shops at the moment including value pack and games .. grhhhhhhh been a total nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I gather items like cameras and camcorders seem to be delivered quicker than items like psps and ipods. In fact there is no ipods in stock and there hasnt been for weeks. The problems of delayed shipment seem clearly linked to the fact mydv don't even have the items in stock.

I have sent myDV.co.uk around 80 - 100 messages, one after the other, from the facility on their web site "contact us". I have threatened to just sit and send messages until they reply to at least one.
Dorothy, how on earth have you managed to TALK to someone on myDV.co.uk? Please, please tell! ;)
I cannot contact them via email, telephone (this mailbox is full) or through the "live person" contact (waited 2hrs 17mins from 20th to 4th place and was then cut off!!) So if you know something I don't know - oooooooo I would be most grateful. I'm in the UK and seem to be going around and around in circles.

Have sent a copy of my complaint to BBC watchdog, and I hope it was permissable to give them this website address to give them some idea of the problems with myDV.co.uk. (Administrator?)
I did manage to contact myDV.co.uk. via the "Chat to Live Person" feature on their page - it took 1hr 56mins and "spoke" to someone called "Sandra" - (it was rather like drawing teeth - slow and painful) but "she" tells me that my complaint was "noted" and that the missing items would be sent out to me. Asked when, the answer was A.S.A.P - that's it!
All the messages I sent to them via "Contact Us" - were, as usual, ignored. No email from the US contact either. Telephone as usual "This mail box is full"

Well said Arzel. One thing that everyone should take into serious consideration is that MyDv is likely monitoring threads like these. If there is any suggestion that the customers are seeking to rip MyDv off, or that the complaints being filed are in any way illegitimate, it puts MyDv in an advantageous position.
The best bet is to stick with telling the truth and doing the right thing. In the end, the one who is truly wrong will stand out as such, and the media will have a good story to cover. :)

HI Storic
Its best to contact them from 1pm uk time , you may have to ring about three times one after the other but ive always got through. Tel 0207-993 4698/4696 . If you need details of returning an item i suggest you contact
Bill Desilva who im sure will point you in the right direction as i found Bill extremely helpful . ( Its Bill that arranges the shipments - his telephone number is 001 508 520 0060 an automated service will ask you to enter the mailbox extention which is 211. He cant however help with the missing components . I hope this helps you and good luck !

Thank you Dorothy! :applause:
As soon as I read your post, I noted the telephone numbers you had given me and tried 0207-993-4698, guess what! I actually managed to speak to a very helpful and polite young man called Tom Lucas. He assures me that:
a) The missing items will be forwarded to me in time for Christmas
b) My credit card will refunded the difference between the price on the invoice and the price debited to my credit card account.
His explanation about the lack of reply to emails was that they were getting thousands of emails per day (I wonder why? :) ) and there was not enough staff to cope - the matter was being seen to.
Now if myDV.co.uk DOES hold to these promises made to me over the telephone, fair enough! However, time will tell - and please forgive me for being somewhat circumspect on this matter. ;)
Thanks again - you have earned your angel first class wings. :applause:

PS Just to make matters clear, I have NOT received a refund on these consoles and will endeavour to sell them on for the price I paid for them. HAD I received a refund, I would have done my best to return them to myDV.co.uk - PROVIDING they were willing to cover the cost of postage etc. and gave me clear instructions on how to do so. I agree, once the money had been refunded (which in my case, it wasn't) the consoles would no longer be my property. However, having been overcharged for them, I would not, again be out of pocket, by having to pay for the return postage for what essentially would have been receipt of faulty goods and poor customer relations.

I have just found this site and again our friend has struck again to the Tune of my 14 year old sons hard earned £155.95 for a bogus Sony psp the website pspuniverse.co.uk is now shut down I had no contact details for the company no telephone number except 1-800-555-5555 which is not a number accessible from the UK but through the power of the internet ended up finding http://www.mydv-ripoff.co.uk which in turn led me to this site so now maybe I will get some justice for my sons disappointment

Looking at a cached version of the site, the UK contact number for pspuniverse is listed as 0161 870 6584 and their e-mail is support@pspuniverse.co.uk
I would still suggest you may be better contacting the credit card company or bank used to make the purchase and see what they can do.
Hope this helps!

Contact your credit card company, they are classed as joint sellers. You may have to wait 30 days from the date of purchase to make a claim, but you will get your money back.
Go for it.

I ordered goods on 5th Nov, cancelled by email on 12th Dec and have just received an email acknowledging my cancellation request but saying that I have to phone them to actually cancel. I have replied saying that as they have chosen to communicate with me via email and not phone (they have my number), I too choose to communicate with them via email and my cancellation stands and should they still despatch, the goods will not be accepted and that I want my money returning in full. Should they not refund me, I am happy that Amex will stand by their responsibilites and refund me.
