Well done. :applause:
Keep at them for the rest of your money and make sure you lodge complaints with some of the consumer orgnisations listed in the stickies. Especially the Massachusetts attorneys office to support investigations.

It seems completely outrageous that MyDv would be willing to shortchange someone by a mere £8.00, when it is most obviously costing them so much in the way of complaints, lost business, and potential legal trouble.
Why are they witholding this money? Is it still that "currency exchange" issue?

The fact that they continue to withhold such small amounts makes me wonder if they do not know how their programming is working.
It is obvious that this is a poorly run company at best, so it possible they do not know what is going on within their own processing.
Another side issue which has been partialy addressed is this issue of "Gray" product. I think it is obivous to everyone now, that the reason they are able to offer such good deals is because they are selling product which has been purchased wholesale from some other country where the difference in price is allowing them to sell for much less while still making a profit.
This is not illegal, but as many have mentioned it does void any warranty associated with the product, leaving the consumer almost no recourse in case something should go wrong with the product, or if it does not work in the first place.
One issue which should be mentioned (I believe) when talking to credit card companies, or making complaints, is that of the value listed on the DHL shipment. It appears, as some have mentioned, that they appear to be trying to avoid duty fees associated with the product in mention. This would be considered illegal black market sales if it is true.

Arzel I believe is quite right to highlight the value listed in DHL shipment, my US$3000+ camera was shipped with a value of US$100. There was a series of posts somewhere on these threads about exactly this issue.
I don't agree with Arzel about 'they do not know how there programmming is working'. It is all calculated, and all these little bits of overcharge / underrefund add up to big profit. The trusting and meek British Public is not in general like those of us who have ended up on these threads..... many simply won't bother.

Barnaby - in my ignorance of Customs matters, I initially didn't realise the significance of the value of 100.00 USD on the Commercial Invoice attached to my delivery box until someone else raised the issue recently, and yourself from yesterday's message. Now I see - it is implying that the content of the package is only worth 100.00 USD. Is this right?? Obviously DHL are so desperate for work that they have no reason to query why Mydv / Nepco (or whatever they are called) are shipping lots of items all valued at 100.00 USD. Strange or what?!

I think it would be hard to fault DHL in this matter. As an analyst, matters such as these are not always evident, but I would supect that they will eventually question the probability of so many shipments with listed values of $100 from the same company, particularly if they do not ever ship items listed of value greater than $100.
Since my understanding is that the limit is $100 for duty issues, most shipments of small amounts probably have a default of $100 attached to them regardless of the shipper, making it unlikely that DHL would find this highly irregular.
For example, when I shipped a couple of cd's, with pictures of a trip to Ireland, to a friend staying in London a couple of years ago I used the regular postal service. They asked me the insurance value, to which I said "I don't know." The guy working said "Is it less than $100?" To which I said, "Yes." And then he said most people just list $100. I didn't really think much about it at the time and forgot about it until now, but after hearing about myDV it all makes sense.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but if every refund was X number of pounds, dollars, pennies or otherwise, short, this could eventually total a tidy little sum. Well couldn't it? eg. 100 disgruntled customers, all paid £5.00 short adds up to (I know, I know, but just let me prove I can still add up :) ) £500.00 - mmmmmmm - as a cockney would say "A nice little earner!"

PS The invoice (for customs' use?) packed with the consoles was for $100 - er - there were four of them - each page 1 of 1

As an aside, I'd just like to say that I love having more 'brits' on this forum. I've been soaking in all of the new words and phrases, and loving every minute of it. Its also good to see the US and UK gladly working together on something. :)
