HTmatrix, one of the many matrix sites out there who have closed up shop in just this last week, should be noted for their consideration. Instead of running off with everyone's payments, they decided to refund their customers' money. I hope that many other matrix sites stick to this same priniciple if they plan to close. One source told us that the reason they did this was because no one ever cycled on their site. These seems like a very similar situation to the matrix-site owner in Bob Sullivan's article from January 28th (see NEWS).

Some of you have seen these site closures. Were any of you involved with any of them? Please post your stories here!

I know that I am bumping up an old post, but I was going through my archives when I realized that I never quoted what they had up on their site when they shut down.

From the HTmatrix.com website when they closed down in May, 2003

HTmatrix.com has closed.
All money will be refunded.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the recent appearance of hundreds of new matrix sites, the market has become too diluted. Customers and site owners are both suffering the consequences. I have decided to do the logical thing and close down the site before too many people join lists that will never cycle.

If you are a customer, I will be contacting you and issuing refunds. My payment processor absorbs 24% of each sale and also takes two months to send me payment. It may take some time before you recieve a refund (I have to use my own money to make up the difference.) Please try to be patient.

Thank you for your support,

Chad Elliott, Owner HTmatrix.com
