Hi
I ordered a Sony TRV DCR480E but then, as everyone else discovered, had more money taken out than I expected.
I contacted my credit card company and they said it was due to the exchange rate. Which was a surprise as I only buy from UK web sites, which MyDV supposedly was.
After a lot of digging around on the internet I found this and other sites who talked about MyDV and then I recontacted my credit card company. This is the advice that I got from them.
I Emailed MyDV and asked for my order to be cancelled and stated that I wanted my money refunded within 7 to 10 working days, stating the final day and if this was not carried out I would be passing all the information onto my credit card company. I also stated I wanted a reply the next day to confirm that my order had been cancelled. I also phoned up the different phone numbers and managed to leave one message stating the same thing.
The next day when no Email had been received I re-Emailed the letter and managed to get on the chat line and spoke to Lisa. I asked why my order had not been cancelled, that I wanted my refund and the dates etc. I kept copies of all the Emails and chat line.
Within the time stated I got back my full refund and the exchange rate was in my favour so I actually got slightly more, unbelievable and all within the time limit.
This worked for me and I wanted to let you know so maybe I will help others. I also complained to Watchdog.
Hope this helps someone.
