Tlinds - Dont bank on a PSP arriving from mydv for Christmas!! If you are in a position to buy one, go and get one locally tomorrow.

Live chat only works when their offices are manned. They wont take cancellations on live chat so you may as well go straight for the phone.

Keep ringing 0207 993 4698 any time from 0730 on Monday morning UK time. Eventually, you will get through, when you do, insist that you want a refund. They will try to persuade you to wait a few more days as you have waited so long. Just stick with it, "no thank you, I want a refund" again "no thank you, I want a refund"

When you call that number, you only pay for a call to London. They pay for it to be diverted elsewhere in the world. So you will pay 5p each time you get the "mailbox is full" message, but it is far far cheaper than calling any of the international numbers listed for mydv and nepco.

Good luck - dont let them beat you - keep at it!!

What you do about buying another PSP is up to you but one thought on myDV.

With what is going on legaly with myDV they may become more difficult to contact and deal with. There is no doubt you can get money back from them by cancelling but you will compromise your position with your credit card company. This is because when you cancel you release them from having to pay you back and any refund is between you and myDV.

However, if you let things be and claim from the credit card company (they won't do anything until 30 days have passed) and the things doesn't turn up they are bound to refund you in full. They then have to submit a chargeback to get the funds from mydv.

Agree with Churchwood but are you sure '30 days and still no delivery' is the ONLY criterion for CC company refunds??

I rather doubt it. In my discussions with my CC, I had cancelled for different reasons (all familiar on this website), for example "Goods unfit for Purpose" and similar. That is surely at least as valid as the 30 day thing. This is crucial for some people's problems on these posts. If on day 29 they receive an item that is incompatible with UK formats, japanese manual, wrong plug, been overcharged etc etc with all the worries of VAT and Import Duty on top, that surely must be a legit reason for cancelling.

Does anybody out there actually work for a credit card company and thus can guide us all here???

The law requires that you should receive goods in a "reasonable time" For these purposes, 30-days is more than reasonable. Therefore, your credit card company WILL support you after this time which is what I discussed with my card company and subsequently took the action to cancel.

The longer this goes on, the more people are going to suffer. Dont forget, credit card companies dont just roll over and give credit back without pursuing all recovery avenues first. They tell you that you have protection but when you request it, you will find a long process ahead.

Nipping it in the bud whilst mydv/nepco are still active has got to be the best policy. As Merc has said a number of times, there is a long way to go and people have been receiving their refunds.

Quite right. The 30 day non-delivery business is not the only reason you can claim from the CC company. Certainly goods unfit for purpose is one, fraud or business closure are others. The CC company is liable to pay.

However, if you cancel with myDV you have released the CC company from resposnability to give you your money back, as it is now between you and myDV. Unless you can show myDV has no intention of refunding you and is in effect being fraudulent. Cancelling puts the effort on you to get your money back.

The CC Company is on the hook most ways you look at it. So use them they are a powerful tool to get your money back. It is also a way of getting back at myDV as any and all "Chargebacks" (what the CC Company do t get the meoney back) hurts myDV's reputation and business standing with the clearing banks. In the end they will refuse to deal with the company which effectively will shutdown this kind of operation.

I have used the live chat under various names this week as a basic experiment, discussing potential orders is easy but whenever I enquired about non delivery of existing orders.... my chat session was terminated- 3 different times under 3 different names!!

I too purchased from mydv.co.uk and I used their Live chat to purchase PSP I asked pertinent questions i.e. is it UK spec? will it be there in time for xmas? I was assured it would be, but I decided to keep a record of Live Chat. mydv.co.uk has not only failed to deliver in the allocated time of 3 weeks but has also charged an additional £5.26 which (I hope) will lead to a charge of fraud against this charlatan company.
