View Full Version : Yet another unhappy customer of MyDV

I ordered a PSP on 28th October, stock in the UK was non-existent, so decided to order online. MyDV took the money from my creditcard on the same day, more than invoiced (this seems to be a common problem) on 30th November it had not arrived, despite numerous calls to customer services chasing it. I e-mailed to cancel the order. On 1st December it arrived and was unusable in the UK. It came supplied with a Japanese plug and manual. I rang customer services and e-mailed them asking for them to arrange collection and refund. I was advised that I should buy an adaptor and download an English Manual. I declined to do this and insisted on a refund under their terms and conditions of sale and refund. They advised me that if I returned it I would have to pay 15% service charge. I refused to pay this and insisted that they arrange collection and full refund. Many e-mails from me to them followed with no reply. Also I contacted them by phone on 2 other occassions with no action on their part. I still wait for them to arrange collection of the PSP. I have since contacted my CC company under section 75 of the consumer credit act, for refund.
My concern is that I am still in possession of the wretched thing, how do I return it if MyDV do not arrange collection? I do not want to be out of pocket arranging shipment back to the US myself. Will my CC company refuse to refund if I have not returned it.
On a positive note I did lodge a complaint with trading standards, who are investigating the company and my husband as a solicitor has written to Paradies's solicitors to lodge a complaint and to the Department of Trade and Industry, so we are pursuing this from as many angles as we can.
Like many people in the UK, this has not helped with the Christmas stress levels.

I think there are some other threads in these forums specifically talking about returning goods. Take a poke around, I think you'll find some answers.
