Hi people,
I too bought a psp from myDv, not knowing anything really about the website. It was ordered on the 13th Noverber 2005. A few days after the order was put in we were told it would be posted on the 25th November. We still recieved nothing so i decided to search myDv on google. I was appaled at what i saw, and sudddenly lost all hope of even recieving my item :weep: . I thought about cancelling, but finally on December 17th We recieved an e-mail telling us that it would be posted on the 18th December and that we would recieve a tracking number soon. By monday we still heared nothing, so i sent them an e-mail and they told me that DHL had picked up the psp and we should have been sent a tracking number. I told them we hadn't, and amazingly, they sent me one. :applause: So it looks like i might get it after all, but on the tracking details, it says it is in transit in New York. It has been like this for the whole day.
Do you think i will actually get it? If so, how long do you think it will take?
Please Help!
Many Thanks
Danny

Danny,
One quick question... Did MyDv charge you a little more for the PSP than was advertised? If you paid by CC, then check your statement. You might be in for a surprise.
But that is only the first of many problems. Customers of MyDv are reporting that when and if they do receive their item (which most do), it is often a "gray" product (i.e. manufactured for Japan or some other country). The problems associated with a gray product are language, plug compatibility, and (sometimes) software issues. So, even if you do get the product, the question you have to ask yourself is whether or not you want it. You might want to refund the item.
Which is what leads us to another hassle. Customers who request refunds are reporting that MyDv is only giving them 90-95% of their money back, and it is very difficult to ship a product back to them, since they are not too forthright with their shipping info.
The best way to counteract these problems that you will have is to consider doing the following:
1. Contact MyDv and tell them that you want to cancel your order, preferrably by email.
2. Check your CC or bank statement. If MyDv initially charged you more for the item, or if they are only giving you a partial refund, then file a chargeback with your bank or CC company immediately. Don't even bother going through the hassle of contacting MyDv about this problem. They are well aware of it, and yet they still did it to you.
3. When and if the package arrives via DHL, immediately tell the driver that you are refusing the package. You would like it to be sent back to MyDv.
You accomplish three things by doing this. First, by filing a chargeback you avoid hours of financial hassles with MyDv. Second, by refusing the package from DHL you sidestep the trouble of having to find out where these clowns are actually located. Third, you get to enjoy your Christmas knowing that your money is back in your account, the package is going back to the sender, and you don't have to do anything else but be happy and thank the folks here. :)

I'll be amased if you get it, and from what i've heard from people who have actually received their goods from mydv, you'd be better of not getting it. If I were you i'd do as I did, have no more communication with mydv, contact your credit card company explain the situation to them and they will send you a form which you fill in send back to them and then they will do a chargeback and refund you what you have paid. I got my refund from my CC company a few days ago, I ordered a PSP a few days earlier than you and never received it or any refund for what they overcharged me.... If you do happen to receive the goods I wouldn't bother taking delivery of whatever it is you've ordered because it's probably a japanese import that doesn't work in this country, then you'll have the EVEN BIGGER problem of trying to return it to them. Save yourself even more heartache just contact your credit card company......

thanks for the advise you two, but i have already had enough hassle with this company i think. If i want to cancel that would just take more time and money, and quite simply i have had enough of it lol. I guess i'll just wait and see if it arrives. As long as it plays the games i dont really mind too much. But if i dont recieve it within a week, then i'll start taking steps to getting my money back.
And by the way, they did overcharge me about £15

Good to hear that you are coming to a resolution. And just to clarify, I only recommended sending an email to MyDv to cancel, and to avoid speaking with them anymore over the phone.
From a personal standpoint, I just cannot fathom how you would still be willing to move forward with a company that overcharged you by £15, delayed shipping for over a month, and will be giving you a "gray" product that will give you problems and probably have no warranty. To each his own, I suppose.
If it were me, I'd have the chargeback filed through my CC, refuse the shipment from DHL, and take my new refund to the local electronics store to buy a PSP that doesn't come with problems.
