Ordered an ipod nano for my girlfriend on the13th dec from what appeared to be a reputable UK site. I couldn't be further from the truth. Having followed the normal chasing up pattern i.e email, customer support tel no's without success I decided to check out the website reviews...I've been banging my head and cursing my own naivety ever since.
I'M after any advice as to how I might get my money back (bearing in mind I paid by debit card), whether anyone has received their order and any other alternatives that might keep my presentless girlfriend happy over the festive period.
Can't believe this fraudulent company have been managing to operate for so long.
Yours,
Mr Soon to be Single.

All you can do at this stage is contact your debit card company and tell them the situation, others on here have paid by debit card and have managed to get a refund, don't give up, be persistent, if I were you I wouldn't bother contacting mydv as it will be an utter waste of time. As for you receiving your ipod in time for christmas or indeed at all I wouldn't hold much hope out. All you can do is put it down to experience and do as we are all going to do in the future thoroughly research a company selling any sort of goods on the internet before you part with any of your hard earned cash..
Good Luck

Cheers Carolann,
Contacted my debit card company, they said they would be unable to do anything legally until after thirty days of the transaction...is this true? Keeping my fingers crossed the goods will arrive although it now looks like I have more chance of santa delivering it himself.

Yes it is true about the 30 days, I bought a PSP from them on the 11th November and was refunded by my credit card company a few days ago. They will probably send you a form to fill in and return to them i'm not sure how it will work with a debit card transaction but I don't see the difference as you've equally been defrauded by mydv as somebody who has paid by credit card. DHL turned up with my PSP yesterday but I refused to take delivery of it and told them to send it back to where it came from, as A I have already been reimbursed from my CC Company, and B even if I hadn't have been the goods they are sending out are not compatible here in the UK, and the warranties are not worth a carrot.

climp..i am in the same position as you with the debit card issue...out of curiosity were you overcharged for your ipod??
Demand that the bank issues a chergeback as you are disputing the transaction. They will do it ..i have recieved the refund from my bank this way..
if they do deliver absolutely refuse to take it...the warrenty on it will be void..and returns to myDV are fruitless as you cannot obtain a delivery address and you will be lumped with the shipping charge...
fire off cancellation emails, keep copies...they probably wont answer your requests but the bank may need the evidence at a later date..dont bother trying the customer service numbers just deal direct with your bank...they will get your money back..

good luck...and i am sure your gal will forgive you...with a bit of  ;)

Fortunately I was charged the correct amount for the ipod, but unfortunately this means I can't dispute the transaction until after a thirty day period of non-delivery.
Will get back to debit card company in a few weeks. Meanwhile I'm going to the florists to gain some much needed brownie points.

If I were you i'd contact your bank in the morning and put them in the picture don't wait for the 30 days to elapse, they will advise you what to do next. I've had my refund from my credit card company, so don't give up you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel pretty soon....
