Q: I see that MYDV (and the rest of NEPCO's companies) have shut down their websites. Why?
A: Between 12-17-2005 and 12-27-2005 MYDV was shut down due to a court order imposed by the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. As of 12-28-2005, MYDV continued operations under an agreement with the A.G.'s office. NEPCO could not comply with the court order, and therefore shutdown (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?p=33106#post33106). The websites will not be reopening!
Q: I ordered item(s) from MYDV and they haven't been received yet.
A: Contact your credit card company immediately. (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?p=33105#post33105)
Q: I ordered from MYDV, and have not received my goods. Will I receive them?
A: No! Since NEPCO is shut down, they will not be sending any goods.
Q: I have heard that MYDV is shipping from the United States. Is this true?
A: (It was)
<strike>
Q: What can I expect from the goods I receive from MYDV?
A: Many, many customers are reporting that goods received from MYDV are not UK-spec. This means that camcorders are coming in the NTSC format, Playstations are coming with US power plugs, items are coming with Japanese instructions, etc.</strike>
Q: I want to get my money back, what should I do?
A: You need to contact your credit/debit card company and request a chargeback (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?p=33105#post33105).
<strike>
Q: I want to contact MYDV. What email addresses and phone numbers should I try?
A: Matrixwatch keeps an updated list. Click here (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3378)
</strike>
Q: I tried to contact MYDV about a refund, but I can't get through. What do I do?
A: You need to contact your credit/debit card company.
Q: I paid with a debit card, am I still covered?
A: Most cards have the same protection as credit cards. Contact the card issuer to check your coverage. Contact information for the card issuer is typically on the back of your debit card.
<strike>
Q: I contacted MYDV, requested a refund, and they haven't refunded my money. What do I do?
A: Same as above. You need to contact your credit/debit card company. Some MYDV customers have reported that credit companies are making them wait 30 days since the time of the requested refund before the bank will execute the charge-back. Some banks are also requesting that you provide proof that you requested a refund on said date! Save those emails!
Q: I received a refund, but it is short of the original purchase price. What do I do?
A: Contact MYDV to request a refund for the remainder. If you cannot reach MYDV, or simply cannot get them to refund the remainder, contact your credit/debit card company as described above.
Q: I received a refund, but my item is still being shipped. What do I do?
A: You need to refuse delivery of the item when the delivery courier arrives. This is as simple as telling the delivery man you are not accepting the item. We have reports that DHL couriers are quite unsuprised to hear this when then know the return address is for NEPCO.
Q: I received a refund AND I received my item. What so I do now?
A: You need to make an effort to return the item to NEPCO.
</strike>
Q: I have received item(s) from MYDV that I want to return. How do do so?
A: At this point you are likely stuck. You can't return something to a defunct company.
Q: I received items, I want to return them, I can't figure out what return address to use, I can't get a hold of NEPCO, DHL won't let me return the item....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What do I do?
A: More and more people are falling into this bucket. Your only recourse is to keep talking to your credit/debit card issuer. Explain the issue. Explain that NEPCO has been shut down by law enforcement. Explain how you tried endlessly to get a return address. When all else has failed, the only thing left to do is get justice from an outside source (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3587).
Q: I feel I have been mislead and defrauded by MYDV. Is there anything I can do to help protect future customers from this kind of fraud?
A: YES! <br>The most helpful thing to do right now is to file a complaint against MYDV with the Massachusetts Attorney General (click here) (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3450)! <br>You can also pursue reporting this company to the various agencies listed here on Matrixwatch (click here) (http://www.matrixwatch.org/modules.php?name=Content&file=viewarticle&id=10). <br>Finally, consider joining the Matrixwatch MYDV victim registry (click here) (http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3508).
Q: I'm filing a complaint against MYDV. What company should I file the complaint against?
