You lot seem like good natured people and want to do the right-thing for mankind/womankind. Well how about, while browsing eBay for auctions to report, you use you spare computer's spare power to find a cure for cancer?

I've been running a little background app for over a year now, which uses unused computer power to run through chemical info which helps find a suitable cure (kind like the Seti thing).

It's made by a company called Grid.org, and is called the UD agent. You can download it from: http://www.grid.org/download/gold/download.htm .

Also, once you've signed up you might like to join a "team" I have running called 'Big Willies' (don't ask why ;) ). Nothing special comes from being in this team, but it just helps me keep track of how many people I have got to join.

So... once you are a member and have your UD Agent running - click this URL to join 'Big Willies': http://www.grid.org/services/teams/team.htm?id=EB8185DC-C5D1-49E9-99C3-991C1C778082

There will not be a cure for cancer in our lifetime. There is not just one cancer, there are many, many different kinds of cancer. The number one reason for cancer is the chemicals that our placed in meat, the number two cancer killer is cigarretts. Remove meat and cigarettes and cancer will drop at such a rapid rate.

um... yeah, but considering the advancements in our current 'cures' for cancer and how many people are surviving cancer nowadays... it can't hurt to run this. Over the past few years, there have been many medicine based cancer cures/halters which aid radiology in radicating cancer form peoples bodies. Sure, cut down on chemicals/smoke/etc/etc, but the fact we're living 50 years longer than our bodies were originally designed for, is one of the other main reasons cancer is becoming more common.

The agent also occasionally runs things like finding cures/better vacinations against Anthrax and Smallpox which I'm sure will be of interest to all you Americans and British on this forum... especially considering the post-iraq terrorist threats being imposed on our countries.

What I learned in medicine is that the human body is designed to live for 125 years. However, it is very rare to find a human that actually does live this long before they expire. I do not understand why you think "we're living 50 years longer than our bodies were originally designed for" the truth is we are expiring sooner than we were ment to.

I meant in caveman terms ;)

Fine, if you don't want to run it then don't. It's only a free way to participate in a good cause, without it hindering you one bit, which may be of help to you and many others in the future.

I am not against running it, in fact I do think it is a good idea, I was just pointing out that cancer can be beaten with life style changes.
