Simple question....why have you bothered to post TOUs at MW at all?

Name calling, personal insults, hate attacks, faith attacks, family insults, member taunting, guest taunting, general vitriol and much worse are unchecked and rampant throughout this site. The excuse of members being upset by their experiences does not cover the extent of this abuse in the slightest bit.

Fair enough, it's a free internet (mostly)...but why bother going to the trouble of constructing quite sophisticated TOUs when ZERO seems to be enforced or at least they are given such a long leash as to be completely pointless.

Rest assured that we have already taken measures to attempt to limit this kind of behavior. The M.W. staff works around the clock to monitor our forums, and we do the best job we possibly can. Please remember that we are all unpaid volunteers who spend deozens of hours a week reading and moderating. We can't catch every single violation of the acceptable use policy the second that the infraction is posted.

I really meant the problem is site wide and believe me I know how difficult it is... ;) But in the genuine spirit in which you offer an apology, I fully accept sir, thankyou.

Perhaps more MODs might ease the load?...just a thought ;)

Yes Merc, with respect, I know that which is why I wondered if, as you and yours are obviously stretched to the point of failing to uphold the TOUs, perhaps taking on a few more helpers might not be a bad thing.

M.W. is intended to be a friend place for ANYONE to visit. That includes those who are pro- and anti- for the schemes that are discussed here. It is the job of the M.W. staff to deal with violations of the acceptable use policy. We have been lenient in the past months, but things have come to a head and it appears that punishments may be needed if things continue on this course.

I apologize for all of those who have come here in the past 6 months and been "driven" away by hurtful comments....

For what its worth I think the comments towards you where out of order and the correct decision was made to close the thread.

When you mentioned your illness I thought no one would use this against you, unfortunately I was wrong.

I hope your are well on the road to recovery and I do have some understanding of what your family will have gone through with this but I dont wish to go into any more detail.

I only came back in here, Ifell4it, because, I want to say "God Bless" to
you too, ==No one wants anyone to suffer==If they do, they are less
than human, but to your quote, to the person who you really think insulted you,
Avida, she has suffered many things, also. I love her, and she is only
"defending" her territory, that she, and only she can do. She felt "assualted"
and was only saying "what she felt"==She is a very loving, and defensive,

I understand, Ifell4it, I agree, life is too short, and we cannot hold grudges,
but I wish, that I had been at a different place, and a different time, when
I heard about YM/Sta==if I had been under "different circumstances"==maybe
my sister would not be grieving over losing $15,000.00 , and getting nothing
but pennies every week. She believed, that that would be a "supplement"
to her income. And I would not be "dreading" another false "1099"==on
money that I did not receive. Only knocking me out of the benefits, that
I am entitled to. I cannot work, either, and do not wish ill will on anyone.
