Damion was realistic about the consequence of running a matrix site That is, the consequence of an ever-growing group of people who, signing on at the bottom of matrix lists, have a slim-to-none chance at cycling. For example, it would take years to cycle someone off EzExpo's 50" plasma list, and those who signed on to cycle those people off during that long wait would be the new group of people who need to wait double the amount of time. Thus, the matrix process goes on forever, ending at some point because there are always a finite group of people who can sign on. The other alternative that would come up near the final stages of a matrix site is that those who cycle would agree to recycle some of their newly-rewarded funds back into the matrix list. This is the phenomena I see happening right now to a few of the largest sites out there.
This is why I was pleased to hear Damion say in this article, “The only way you’re gonna get rid of (them) is if you die and there’s no one the customers can turn to”. These are the words of a person who has a realistic view of the matrix. Other site owners have dealt with this problem by either suddenly shutting down and either refunding or taking everyone's money, or they keep their site up and try their best to deal with the problems. Damion is one of the latter owners who keep their site up, and he sees the consequences of taking off with the money a greater evil than sticking it out to the end. But, at some point, the current owner of EzExpo will have to make a choice.
If this is the case, then couldn't some people say that MatrixWatch.org is actually doing them a favor? The law suit enables them to go down as martyrs and not ever have to worry about the complaints that customers would have brought against them in the coming years. They get to shut down, and not have it be their fault. The law suit demands that EzExpo refund their customers. If the law suit is successful, then EzExpo gets to close up in such a way as to have the opportunity to blame me, and not themselves, for this unfair system they set up. In a strange twist of irony, I might just be the customer who protects their reputation the most.
