View Full Version : UltimateMatrix Closed - A Nicety?

There has been a slight misunderstanding. The UK-based ultimate matrix has closed down, but the US-based site is still operational. I believe that the message left by the former should be heeded by the latter anyway though. The US site is located at www.UltimateMatrix.net

From http://www.ultimatematrix.co.uk/
SITE CLOSED.

As of 21/07/2003, all of our "Matrix" sites have been discontinued. As a nicety (not a legal requirement), past customers will continue to be cycled based on sales made via www.MBCPromotions.co.uk, but future customers of that site will not be offered any "free gifts".

In simple terms, the "free gift" offers have been withdrawn, but will still be given to past customers of our sites.

Within the next few weeks, all of our matrix site addresses will be re-directed to www.MBCPromotions.co.uk

Why has this been done?
We felt that the "Matrix" sites we ran had run there course. A lot of man hours were being used up to run them and they had stopped moving as fast as they were. This meant we had started to run at a loss, rather than in profit. We are not legally bound to continue the "free gift" distribution, but we have decided to do so as a nicety to previous customers. There are many reasons for the slow down in the matrix lists, including:
lack of confidence in potential customers,
bad publicity from members and non-members,
exhausted and unsuccessful advertising methods,
wasted staff time on repeat queries that were already answered on our sites.

It had also come to our attention that most customers were simply attempting to buy in to the "lists" for the free gifts rather than the actual items being sold (eBooks). If you are still wanting to join a matrix site, we would suggest the following sites as they appear to have very short "lists": But please remember, you are legally buying eBooks and the "free gifts" are exactly that - FREE GIFTS.

I just wanted to add that it is funny to me that when a matrix site closes, they act like they did everything in their power to stay open. The all mention that "Advertising was exhausted", which translates to "my fingers are tired from posting ads in matrix forums" and "Top-Matrix is not getting as much traffic as it used to". There is not ONE matrix site out there that advertises away from the internet or away from matrix portals or forums. Matrix sites don't even tap into 1% of all the traffic on the internet, yet they act as if they cannot find anymore new customers.

I do have to commend MoveMeUp though. They send out t-shirts and pens to their members. Those things are great for advertising because they always find a way to circulate. I have found so many odd pens that have lead me to websites I never heard of. While it isn't a billboard ad, MoveMeUp is trying to break new ground.

Mikv- you should know what you are talking about before you go and make remarks like that. I know of several matrix sites that have advertised outside of the internet.

Some have went to sports events and gave out flyers, newspaper ad's, direct mailing, along with other ways. Today these sites seem to be the one still getting orders and moving onward. I have been around this sceen since dec. 2002 and have watched it all go down hill. I am not for or against the idea. i think if the right person were to take the idea and improve it there are way to make this work.

This is not to attack you but to make you realize you might not be up with everything that has happen in the past.

I was a customer of ezexpo till i started to hear of all the lies and deception there from shelby. I have personally talked to damion and never thought twice when he controled the site. I have never posted anything here but check it everyday to see all the new developments that are taking place. I know there are inoccent people out there that have matrix sites that will getburned by this. I have spoken with my attorney and had him look into matix site about the legallity and he has always said it is legal. I can even provide the number to contact him about this.

Interesting comment.....MoveMeUp is still a Matrix site. So they are still inherently bad, right? :)

To reply, there are MAYBE 150-200 people (not innocent, they know what they are doing) out there that have matrix sites. On the other hand, there are on average 1000+ people that have spots on EACH site. That is 200,000 INNOCENT people, minus about 200-500 people who know what they are doing also, and another 1000 that will ACTUALLY cycle, and you get over 190,000 INNOCENT people that are going to get burned by these scams.

So what do you suggest matrix watch do. Protect 200 matrix owners at the expense of 190,000 unsuspecting innocent customers that WILL NEVER CYCLE.

Oh, yeah, that makes sense!!!

Hmm, interesting.....Just curious....Are them actual numbers gotten from actual research on your part or are you being hypothetical?

Well, if you want me to be so precise, why don't we start with you. How many people did YOU have to refund? How many ACTUALLY cycled?

It was obviously hypothetical on concerned's part. There are only 1000+ members on a few, large matrix sites. However, even if you reduce the average to a few hundred, that is still a lot of people. While his final figure (200,000) is exaggerated, it still does not negate what he is trying to say-- that more people benefit when we aim to help the customers rather than the matrix owners.

The FTC has even gone so far as to estimate that 2-3% of these people benefit while 97-98% never see a thing.

Well, let's just surfice it to say, I will be in the red when all the refunds hit the customers.....
