New Matrix

WatchDog I appreciate what you guys are doing. I'm happy to see that EZexpo is getting sued, I personally lost a lot of money in that ridiculous website. But I'm thinking of opening a new website and I'm wondering if I sell products that people will enjoy and actually use, and also have very reasonable lines, do you still think that it's a bad idea to open a matrix website?

Given the current glut of existing Matrix sites (regardless of what they are selling), and the current state of affairs regarding the lawsuit and article on MSNBC, i think it would be very unwise to open anything related to a Matrix at this time.
For one, the market is saturated. For another, this lawsuit will do much to either prove or disprove the legitimacy of the matrix.
Finally if you were to open a new site, with the current knowledge that you have, and they are deemed illegal lotteries, you would knowlingly leave yourself open to potential legal action against yourself, and the ammount of money you could potentially make probably doesn't warrant such a risk.

I would agree that starting a new Matrix Site at this time would be ill advised. There is nothing that says you cannot go ahead and design and set a site up until this lawsuit with EZ Expo is cleared up. If the lawsuit fails, than you can bet that the matrix industry will explode with new business. At least there will finally be some ground rules set up for the matrix community to follow.

I considered starting my own site back in November, so I would have been one of the first ten out there. Had I done it, I would've done it with a legitimate product. The downside to having a tangible product is that you have to find someway to make enough money per item to be able to still fulfill the matrix. So if you are selling ps2's and they get a free spot in the matrix for a plasma, you can't really charge more than what is the industry standard, meaning that you won't have the profits to support a matrix. If deemed legal, you can't really beat e-books. I won't share my idea here, but I think it would've worked. The only reason I didn't do it was because even though I had a legitimate product, I still thought people would be buying my product just for the matrix, which eventually gets really long. There is a new matrix out there which really sells 'new release' dvd's. legitimate company, but the tough part is that b/c it is a real business, the lenght is like 50 people for $100 bucks or $200 bucks, b/c they don't make enough off of each product.
