I typed in "50 Plasma" on an eBay search and came up with some matrix auctions. Here is one with a $50 starting price and they even admit to the straight-line matrix placement:

I also found some fishy PS2 auctions

Yep, the PS2 is a Power Seller, and his auctions are fine. I have seen him on ebay for awhile and he only does selling to pre-authorized bidders......

There are 15 bidders on SAMSUNG PPM50H2
7 bidders on Zenith plasma HDTV! CHEAP!!

They probably have no idea what they are into.

I emailed the top bidder yesterday and told them what they were getting into. I never got a response, and that same user has bid 2 more times. That bidder is on top of the list again. I think it could be a vigalante trying to stop it that way, or else they are just that dumb and deserve to lose that money.

Guys,
I clicked on a couple plasma links and saw that they are now invalid. Excellent work! You dogs are quick!

Some people criticize those who shut down eBay auctions, but the real reason they exist is the matrix owners. At one time, the customer bought a matrix link off eBay, the matrix lists never moved, the customer got frustrated and realized it was a scam, and now the customer is preventing other people from falling into it. Look at it this way.. The more customers these eBay-matrix-link sellers have, the more enemies they will gain in a couple weeks.

Concerned,
See if you can email ALL the bidders. You are probably right about the vigilante, but some of those bidders might have really been duped when the price was lower. Also, be sure to include a link to the "most successful matrix site", MatrixWatch.org. Hopefully we can make watchdogs out of them.

yeah, these guys really get to me...the Alienware thing is slowing down, but there are people paying $400 to these guys and just getting a spot in line.

My fear is that with college starting up again that a bunch of these will take off with college kids running the scams on ebay.

You'd think they'd catch on by now =o\

I'm curious as to why ebay allows them to post another auction that is the same thing right after they have just removed one of their auctions. I would think that in order to put up another auction with the same category that they would have it reviewed first.

But, that would be too logical.

peterdragin

Ebay doesn't check them when they are listed, they wait for us to report them.

They must think we will not check them again, I check them till they are kicked off or quit listing auctions.
Sort of a BULLDOG watchdog.

I was wondering if any of you get some sort of credit from eBay for helping to report so often.... Many of you appear to have made it your part-time jobs....

peterdragin
August 29th, 2003, 07:45 AM
Nope no credit from ebay, don't need any.

Part time job, ya might call it that but it really dosen't take long to report them.
I don't work and don't have to, made more than enough money in the real business world, and that lets me do what I want, when I want.

If I had a nickel for every report...I'd be sipping drinks on the beach with PD probably as well.

I'm not out to help ebay though, just the newbies to ebay that think they are getting something cheap and just getting a spot in line.
