Anyone ever use (buy) Alstrasoft's AutoresponderPro?

If you look at their sales page, you would think it was a great piece of software, but BUYER BEWARE. I wish I had read more reviews before I bought it. I can't find any good reviews after doing a Google search.

They have the nerve to compare it with Aweber.com and GetResponse.com, but it can't even handle a double opt in set up. There are many flaws in the script. 404 errors abound! There is NO User Guide, Tutorial, or FAQ. You are supposed to come up with these for your customer yourself! You are left completely "in the blind" after you buy it. Support is poor and only seems to respond to the questions they want to answer. The minute you mention the word "refund", they stop answering your emails.

BUYER BEWARE! STAY AWAY from this script at all cost!

I have had a look at this and maybe I'm missing something but this autoresponder stuff can be done in outlook express for free.

Admittedly you need your PC on all the time for it to work but most small business's owners will certainley have their PC on most of the time.

I'm certainley no business expert but surely if everyone is using autoresponders then the ones that offer the personal touch will have an advantage, aren't we all sick of generic messages. The e-mails that address us in person at the beginning will surely get more attention (from me anyway).

As a customer I would much rather deal with a company that responds to my enquiries in person rather than an automated response.
Or are these autoresponders aimed more at the downline builder who wants to hook a potential victim and build up a spam database before they move onto another referral id.

So $160 for something that would disadvantage my business (if I had one), thanks but no thanks.

Autoresponders can be used very legitimately or can be used for the purposes you list above...or anything inbetween.

I use the sutoresponder just to collect optin names for my Monthly Ezines from forms on my websites. I never use them for plain automated responses when someone writes. I may be "old fashioned" but I also like "real" email.

If this Alstrasoft system has a network marketing system attached to it that might explain why the product is not all its cracked up to be.

If by Network Marketing System, you mean a MLM, no it is not an MLM. They do take on affiliates, but that is common even in the biggest companies now a days.
