Well thats about it, £280.00 to claim a prize is definately a scam.
This might sound a bit corney, but I will say it anyway.
Send the guy rocks. Just make sure to weigh them before you send them. Make sure the rocks weigh a total of 280 pounds. Then you can say you sent him what he asked for.

OK then so where were we.
The last reply from Brenda was to ask for £280 for 'Administrative Costs' to cover delivery of the prize.
From this point on I will become Percy in my quest for the prize.
Hello Brenda,
Thank you for your fast reply, I'm so excited about my winnings and have big plans to use the money to visit my family who live in Australia and left me behind when they emigrated last year as I had a medical condition with my ears and could not Travel with them.
Would it be possible to deduct the fee from my winnings as I am an elederly gentleman and don't have to much money available. You could also take £50 for yourself for the trouble.
If not, we do have a western union office in our town I have used to send money to my family in Australia before and I know how to do this but being on a disability pension I might only be able to scrape together £200 from my savings.
I cannot begin to tell you what a change this money will make to my life and how it has come at just the right time.
Please let me know how you wish me to proceed as I can get down the WU office this afternoon, when I collect my pension.
Thank you again for giving me this fantastic blessing.
Kindest Regards and Best Wishes
Percy
Percy does waffle on a bit. But I wonder if I will succeed in haggling the price down to £200.
Percy being old, deaf, poor and a waffler (apologies to any old, deaf, poor wafflers) has given Brenda the opportunity to have an attack of conscience and walk away, without ripping of this poor guy.

At least I saved myself £80, who says scammers aren't kind and understanding.
It is now open season on Brenda who apart from having an excellent command of the english language (better than me  ) also knows which buttons to push.
Its worth noting at this point that the computer used to send the e-mails to Percy is based in Nigeria (who'd have guessed). Also that this scam although quite cheap is aimed at the demographic of internet novices who just might fall for it. Percy being New to computing and mature in years ticks all the boxes for Brenda so is irresistable. At this point Brenda is banking on Percy being an easy con.
Unfortunately for Brenda things aren't always what they seem which will all become clear in Tomorrows installment.
As Matrixwatch makes quite a few enemys amongst scammers there is always a risk of someone warning Brenda What I'm up to.
Luckily for us this whole charade is not in realtime and has already been completed.
More to come tomorrow, including a nice little twist, a Trophy for my collection and a nice little finale to boot...
Unless anyones getting bored.

The next stage is a little tricky but to paint the picture a bit Percy has received an e-mail from another scammer called Tim Turpin (that would be me again) who has requested a change of payment instructions.
Percy will of course forward the e-mail and question the validity of this with the original scammers (Brenda) to see what is going on.
Dear Brenda,
I am a little confused as I have just received another e-mail from a member of your team (see below) saying there has been a change of payment information details.
As you seem the most trustworthy one to speak to what should I do.

Well, send all the information to yourself, including the payment, then send her a confirmation saying payment was recieved. Also, you might want to ask her why a yahoo email address is used. It makes it hard to tell if the "office" is legitimate, and also they might not have any more of those pesky "scammers" sending their winners emails that look legitimate.

Dear Percy,
As discussed please find attached a picture of your Prius Car together with the license plate in your name 'Percy'.
Please consider this as total proof that we are the correct department to be handling your claim, as we do not allow third party shipping companies to get involved.
If you could send the 190 Tomorrow morning we will be able to get a Driver and a member of our PR Department to Drive your new car to you, together with a suitcase containing 600,000 cash.
I cannot reiterate how important it is for your to only deal with myself and to cut off all contact with anyone else, especially someone called Brenda who we are investigating at the moment. It seems she is an ex-employee and has no official status in our company or any company connected with us.

I have received your email and i will want to advice you that the biggest mistake you can make is to make any payments to any other office other than mine.If you insist on going on with your "Tim" then you stand the chance to forfeit your winnings and your car as well as your money cos we will blacklist your winnings and car.
It is my candid advice that you stick to instructions as i have given you and proceed to have your winnings and car sent to you promptly. I have reported this situation to the Toyota Board and they will be contacting you soon.
Find attached a copy of your winning Certificate as provided by Toyota.

Dear Percy,
Thank you for sending us a copy of the winning certificate Brenda has sent you. I am afraid to confirm that it is of course a fake. It appears someone has made an attempt at using a free template in Microsoft Word to look like a genuine Toyota document. The give away is the Microsoft Watermark as Toyota only uses officially branded paper due to Trademark infringement issues.
What we have here is a Nigerian scammer trying to steal from you. The name Brenda is fake and most likely a shemale of some description who is not to be trusted.
What I require you to do is send Brenda fake Wester Union information which I have attached to this e-mail and then send me the £190.00 using the correct details in our previous corespondence. I cannot emphasise how important it is for you not to inform Brenda of what is happening as these scammers are not to be trusted.
This advance fee fraud is often purpotrated by someone who is small in stature and very near the bottom rung of evolution.
As an official Toyota Representative I must reiterate again we are the ONLY ones you should trust.
If you can complete this task successfully I will make sure another £100,000 is added to your prize fund and a free trip to Australia as well.
Please let me know when Brenda has contacted you stating that she is unable to recover the funds from her WU office and we can both have a good giggle.

Percy delivers a little rebuttle.
Hello Brenda,
Thank you for getting in touch and I'm afraid that I have trouble believing that you and this so called Tim aren't in this scam together.
You see I have contacted Toyota UK and they have no price Draw and no shipping company called SKY Link Parcels in fact Sky Link Parcels doesn't excist. Toyota do not charge an administrtaion fee for Prize winnings in fact no company in the world does this, the clue to me should have been the free Yahoo e-mail address that both you and Tim are using and your feeble attempt at trying to provide a winners certificate, which even that you could not deliver correctly .
I have contacted my Local Police station who have informed me that what you are trying is called an Advance fee fraud and you are taking advantage of an elderly person with limited internet knowledge.
If you bothered to check Tims e-mail which I still believe you wrote you would see that Tim sent the forged WU reciept although how you can forge a receipt for something that does not excist I dont no.
Why don't you look up Theft and Fraud and I'm sure you will see a picture of yourself, how you sleep at night I don't know in fact I pray that when you are alone at night you come to your senses and stop this scam before someone else loses their hard earned savings. £190 is a lot to me and yes you are cheap and can you tell Tim to stop sending me e-mails requesting more money due to what he calls unforseen circumstances as I now know my money is forever lost.
The misery this has caused me is unimaginable and whatever religion you believe in I hope it will be mercyfull on you for your sins.
Please return my money to me by Western Union and I will take the 2 mile walk to the office to collect it, which for an elderley gentleman like me is very difficult.
Just provide a copy of the scanned receipt, MTCN number and secret question and I will collect it.
I hope you see the light and correct the errors of your ways.
Percy
I have left a little tempter for Brenda to do a little time wasting exercise on Percy, wonder if shell go for it.
Funny how things come full circle in the end.
