I realize they weren't named in the SEC documents but still, why would anyone want to be involved in something that smells like CEP?
What's next, Coastin88? Maybe so. Last newscast that is all Chris would talk about was Coastin88. Coastin88 isn't named in the SEC case either, right? So watch Coastin88 reincarnate. "We're back! The money you put in here is frozen by the SEC (read "you'll never get it back") but if you'll just put more money in we'll all be working together as a team to build this thing back up." lol Oh brother. Watch! It's going to happen!

Interesting......as this was alluded to locally (not specifically though) in a recent conversation. They shared a belief that Trevor's money making expertise was going to be passed on to someone or otherwise somehow come back into play before too very long.
Edit: I guess people make their call, and take their chances, and if someone gets crunched in the end....well......too bad.

Just got back from Moboking.
The thread there is locked and the admin is saying that there is no connection to C E P "anymore".......whatever that might mean.

Locally?
lol
The reason I think Coastin88 is on the burner to return is because Newscast #8 only mentioned Coastin88. Am I right, or am I right?

Well, well, well. Most interesting. Whatever floats their boat. It answered my question though ;) Thanks mitrod

Sorry for the confusion there. My bad.
I meant to say that there was a local conversation recently that alluded to a CEP or CEP type program coming back up soon, but they did not name Coastin88 specifically.

Here's a quote from a recent post:
"MY check from CEP Trust was returned today July 26. The check was dated July 3 and deposited on July 5th. It should have cleared since it was dated a week before the Receiver even took control on July 10th. It was returned for non suffucient funds........ I sent an email to the Receiver and told him in very blunt terms what I thought of him. This check was 23 days old, it was written and deposited a week before the company went into receivership. This really sucks. By the way, it took CEPT 26 days to send me the freaking check, so they are as much to blame as the SEC."
What a fool! CEP runs out of funds, the SEC freezes the bank accounts and appoints a receiver. Then this guy sends rude emails to the receiver when his check bounces!
The only person who can help him get any money now is that very same man, who neither ran the Ponzi, ran out of cash, nor froze the accounts. Some of these "investors" get what they deserve...

Priceless,
I hope this person also included a return address for the receiver who will no doubt be able to check to see if this was the only cheque they have received from CEP, or if there has been any other cheques that need returning.
Probably not the best move to upset the receiver really, with these 'blunt' tactics or in this case very blunt.
Blame the SEC & receiver for the bounced cheque not Trevor for running a dubious investment scheme.:head:

I can answer that. They will join cause they are so dumb, they will thing it's the only way to get their money back. So, they will try to make a profit to offset the losses they have. Basically, they are so desperate they will try anything. Unfortunately, scammers know that these people are desperate, so naturally they are there to take advantage of the situation.

am I the only one who would worry that the reciever is going to see that FNM was hip deep in CEP Trust anyway, and perhaps he might aska few questions that Isreal or whoever doesn't have good answers to?

If I was involved in any program that had a conncetion to CEP I'd be just a little tight in the private parts right now. Just more reason for my own pet theory that the scammers are getting downright stupid these days. What self respecting ponzi scammer would be making mistakes like this a few years ago? The pros are operating in and for Asia now, these guys operating in and/or targeting US suckers are amateur hour hopefulls. Look at Jonathon Mikula and the rocket scientist behind Phoenix Surf and whatever there big new thing was, under criminal indictment in Florida, just signed an information of some kind or another with the SEC, took in almost $42 million, paid out $36 million, (makes me wonder what they blew the other six large on, but I'm sure their new roomates in the Florida State Corrections Depatment (Online Criminal Wing) will "squeeze" it out of them. Florida is a very bad place to do time kids. They don't have air conditioning, they have a very high proportion of Hispanic and Cuban gang bangers incarcirated, hmmm,,, looks like the Phoenix Surf guys (who were another couple of middle class college kids) are going to be very popular pretty soon.
At least Trevor and Clayton may get to go to a Federal Prison, mostly mobsters and drug trafickers there. A much nicer class of criminal. I only hope one of them had a grandmother that lost her life savings in CEP...

Now, perhaps, you can understand why Skye, Pamela, Moboking et al are furiously pushing the "The SEC and the US Govt colluded to close down a successful business" line of thinking.
Many members have still not accepted C.E.P. was trading while insolvent from the moment it accepted its' first membership. C.E.P. was simply unable to cover its' debts (member payments) RECEIVER OR NO RECEIVER.
Far from being "stupid," or "getting what they deserve" many unsophisticated or naive members have simply fallen for the continual stream of misinformation they're being fed.
Rather than heaping on more abuse and derision, it may be helpful to revisit the history of similar past scams.
You'll find it's a common tactic.
Preying on the "natural" distrust of politicians, government departments and bureaucracy is almost guaranteed to gain support from otherwise quite sensible people. Reinforcing the lie that payments only stopped BECAUSE of the SEC and receiver only adds to the likelihood of members remaining loyal.
To what would anyone here be more likely to respond - honey or vinegar ??
In fact, I wouldn't mind betting that continual cries of "You're stupid" "Nyaa, Nyaa, you lost, you lost" and "I told you so" would be more likely to strengthen the beliefs of many that C.E.P. is the place to stay and MW the place to avoid.
There are plenty of forums only too willing to add to the C.E.P. members "pain", but, I was under the impression that MatrixWatch is intent on moving away from that image.

Here's they're current wisdom, from my own favorite pimp Skye
Had the registration been in place, this likely would not have happened. Being compliant as Trevor thought they were does not equal registration, which is where the middle-men (SEC) stepped in.

If she manages to stay out of prison, and doesn't go bankrupt from having to disgorge her unlawful proceeds, I'm sure she'll be pimping the next big scam.
She just bought a new house, nice a guy as I am I really hope she looses it because of this, she certainly helped a few others lose theirs.
