I remember a story similar to this one. People will make up any story to gain simpathy. Something similar happened with a matrix owner.

I'm not concerned, so I can't answer for him, but I believe he was referring to the story with the woman was attacked at her house and thus couldn't pay anyone back when her site went down. It was never collaborated, so we don't know if it was true or not, but the story was used as an excuse as to why there were no refunds and the site was shutting down.

Yeah, that's what I meant, and I know that BigStarr knew what I meant. I'm sure that if the proof was provided, then the debate would end.

In the story above, the family acted out of GREED.

Matrix owners are likely to also make up stories out of GREED.

I had to ask only because the stories aren't similar.
The parent here made their daughter look ill and they acted as if she was ill, with this act she collected money.

The story you are refering to is about a matrix site own being attacked. Lie or not she didnt ask for any money she just made it known that she was attacked.

I think you could have shared this article without the petty comment thats all... A comment that didnt even relate to the topic...

No she didn't ask for money. She already had it. If it is a lie, she did it so that her customers wouldn't revolt and ask for refunds. Therefor she could have done it to KEEP the money and also to KEEP her customers from reporting her to the authorities.

That wouldnt stop customers. Besides the story will only reach so far.. She didnt email everyone did she? It could very well be a true story why should we assume the worst of it? Everyones got their own opinions on the topic... I for one keep an openmind to all possibilities before making my final decision... I'd hate to say its a lie when its true... Or that its true when its a lie... The stories arent the same but I'm sure you could link anything together.

Sorry I just read through your comment.
From what I remember she did refund as many people as she could (at the time). The story never suggested "i cant refund you because of this" the story only showed the brutal acts of customers who didnt cycle and didn't like the fact that she closed down and they weren't refunded. I believe it was a PS2 list they were on? Like you said thou that ex-site owner who was attacked never confirmed with any pictures or documentation here at MW... So the situation faded as do most... I don't think it is best to always assume everything is a lie, thats just not fair.

Bigstarr...

There were quite a few angry customers that came out and said that she lied about giving refunds. I have yet to see somebody say they got one. I believe one person even said that they were out $2000 or $3000.
