Are these auctions legal on ebay?

Seller: dg234store

is only accepting E-Gold payments for his auction wins (mostly Plasma TV's).

I thought I read somewhere on ebay that you can't only accept one type of payment.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this guy sounds like another scammer.

I think you have heard wrong - there is no "law" stating that you have to accept more than one type of payment option (at least I don't think)

Bulldog,
I'm pretty sure you're right on this, but I was just trying to protect the buyers from potential scams and scammers.

I tried to apply it to ebays policy here under number 7.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/index_popup.html?buy=payment.html&fromInlineCU=true

But it really doesn't fit and they haven't and actually won't answer me, but I'll be checking on this guys auctions and see it ebay determines they're not legit by cancelling them or not.

I did a bit of reading on the E-gold sites yesterday and they're pretty amazing, actually quite informative about cons, scams, etc....

Anyway, just trying to make ebay a safer trading place.

Bulldog, this seller cannot enforce his payment policy since it is essentially a cash transfer. E-gold is untracable as far as payment is concerned and it falls under the #7 rule that spiderjohn posted. In an auction like this the seller could not make you pay for the auction. Per ebay's payment policies the buyers have the RIGHT to decline paying the seller.

This guy is a newly registered scammer as of October 1st. Needs to be reported.....a good bet on this one that his contact info is invalid.
