There are about 20 or so auctions going on ebay with links to a "secret" site where you can get Nike golf clubs. They are taking advantage of these people, with some bidding up to $45 or more dollars just for the website info. Then they go and pay in about $45 to this website and are made to believe by false advertising that they will get clubs in a couple months, just because it only took a month or two at the beginning for this to happen. However, there are over 1000 people on the list and they will need 20,000 more people to sign up to get clubs. The site is growing about 300/people per month, so now the expectation is about 6 years. These people though still think they are getting clubs sometime soon. Something needs to be done on ebay to stop this. I put up an auction there giving away the site info and telling them it's a scam, but they keep bidding on other auctions. Over 90 more people have paid between $2 and $40 to these sellers just to get the website in the past week or so. I've sent emails to ebay and paypal to help stop this, but it continues.
Any other suggestions?

Nice job Hurley. We all have to protect each other. I like your tactic to warn everyone. You are correct, something needs to be done. The only thing that I can think to be done is to contact ebay, give them the auction numbers, and see if they will cancel the auctions. (They began doing this with the ezexpo.com auctions).

Good timing on this topic guys. I just uploaded a new page to the site that can be accessed on the Main Menu bar entitled, "File a Complaint". I have added links to the eBay authorities to report to, and governmental offices as well. Hopefully the FTC and Attorney General's offices will receive enough feedback to answer the situation.

I must confess I have been reporting this type of auction for a few months now, they are real easy to get rid of. Most can be reported for misleading titles, and some for selling a url/website.
If they are selling it on a CD or flpooy you can get them for a complation auction.
So far I have gotten over 13,000 cancled, YES 13,000 auctions. and 204 users NARU'ed. I stopped a week ago because I was out of town on vacation, will get back to it wed. I'll do a search on the golf club auctions and get them cancled.

Very impressive Peterdragin,
And I thought my couple of hundred or so auctions kicked off was pretty good...that was just a drop in the bucket compared to you.
