Poor buyer is really paying about $860 too much for this. Ebay is about as slow as can be in removing this ad. I would hope a few more reports can prod and expidite ebay to yank this ad.

I have a feeling this guy is selling for either YourFreeHardWare.com or Electronicrewards.com

Well now it is at US $995.00 and closing in just under 2 days. I also reported this on Wednesday but Ebay is doing nothing but moving slow.

quoted from .--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2003--
eBay Inc. the world's online marketplace, reported financial results for its quarter ended September 30, 2003.
eBay reported record consolidated Q3-03 net revenues of $530.9 million, up 84% year over year; record operating income of $155.9 million, up 73% year over year; and record pro forma operating income of $172.2 million, up 87% year over year. Operating income was 29% of net revenues and pro forma operating income was 32% of net revenues.

And they can't hire a few more people to expedite this? WAZ UP EBAY? Heck they could hire me LOL! Cheap like $150 per hour! Plus I will work on Saturday and Sunday!

I also reported this couple of times. May be we should remind the winner bidder about this matrix scam.

Let's not get too ticked at them yet about their speed. They have helped a lot in the past, and they are probably busy with tons of reports. Let's stay positive and keep on reporting together.

quoted from the Chicago Tribune

As the largest online auction site, eBay is also where most auction fraud takes place. More than 48,000 online fraud referrals were made to state and federal agencies last year, triple the number in 2001, according to law enforcement officials. Nearly half of those referrals involved auction fraud, according to a study by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Wow- I wonder how many reports Ebay has to deal with on a daily basis? Okay- Your right WD- I guess they are pretty busy over there, and this is not power seller by any means.

Not to change your subject, but Just thought it was an interesting wording by this seller.

Is the seller referring to the auction or the Matrix site in this auction???????? Or himself????

Just thought it was an interesting wording.

It's US $1,275.00! 28 hours before the auction ends.

Do you think there is a possibility that a shill bidding" is taken place between two friends, just to raise the price? How to prove it?

Here is a definition of "shill bidding" on ebay.

What is shill bidding?
Shill bidding is the deliberate placing of bids to artificially raise the price of an item and is not allowed. To avoid the appearance of being involved in this activity, certain people should avoid bidding on each other's items: for example, individuals living together, working together, or sharing a computer, or family members.

When I was pro matrix about 2 months ago I tried selling auctions for spots on a matrix list for an Apple g5. I had about 6 auctions on Ebay and before they were taken down they were around 1k to 1.2k a piece. I thought I was going to be rich of this because it only was $235 for me to put the people into the line. So I was making about 800 to 1k on every auction. Luckily Ebay closed down these auctions before they ended. I realize now that I was doing something seriously wrong. Not only was I misleading the customer, I was ripping him off too. But what I also figured out is that it would also be illegal of me to sell it because I was selling a spot on the matrix. The spot is supposed to be free. I did not tell the bidder that they actually we bidding for around 1k on an ebook which the site charges $235 and that they get a spot on a matrix where it was a slim chance they would cycle. If any of you were the ones that reported me I would like to thank you. You really did save me from getting into a lot of trouble. But I have noticed Ebay usually gets the high dollar matrix auctions off much fast than they do the smaller ones. So I am baffeled why Ebay hasnt taken this one down yet because its getting toward the end of the auction and the seller could end the auction early and may get away with the bidders money.

It is obvious that someone is outbidding others in an effort to prevent someone from winning that might actually pay.

I doubt the winner is paying for this information.

Yea... that's what it looks like. If I was that seller/scammer...I wouldn't be spending that money just yet! LOL :D

I am really shocked ebay didn't get this one- they must be busy I guess.

The bidder is a Vigilante.

Seller is getting nothing but a big bill from Ebay and 30 days to file a non paying bidder report to get his money back for the auction fees.

Ebay has his money for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

My point precisely peterdragin. While this may not be the best way to go about it, I guess when eBay does not get them some people will take it into their own hands.

Wow, this is an interesting and effective anti-scam tactic even though ebay might not like it...:) I can see that this vigilante is using a new eBay account to do the job.

Yea- Well WD has in the past posted that he does not support these type of aggressive tactics. Breaking a rule to help enforce a rule is not appropriate and somewhat hypocritical. All I can say is I didn't do it. Maybe it was just some disgruntled Matrix customer! :D

He is back- I wonder if he is thinking of quitting his day job yet! LOL. Greed- It gets the best of us, but can be the root of evil! Lets see if we can get him stopped this time.
