eBay Watch Dogs Need Your Help

Over the past few months, eBay customers have seen a significant decrease in auctions for "$25 PS2 and XBox systems", and "$150 Plasma TV's". However, these auctions have increased lately, especially with the Christmas season approaching.

Sometime around April 2003, eBay enforced stricter policies on information auctions. These were auctions that offered expensive electronics, but really turned out to be a sale for an internet link where the bidder could be placed on a list to receive expensive electronics, or other items. That list was run by a "matrix" site, and it is the goal of MatrixWatch.org to bring the awareness of these sites to the public, media, and government. So far, our campaign to hinder matrix-site auctions on eBay has been successful. Due to the organization of the "eBay Watch Dogs", most matrix-information auctions are canceled, and the sellers penalized.

We need your help though. We are currently recruiting and training more "eBay Watch Dogs" to help with the effort on eBay and Yahoo auctions. The Christmas season has created an ideal situation for scam artists to take advantage of shoppers looking for a deal. For information on how to help please join our site, and post here in this thread. We have all the information available for you to get a quick start in our "How to report a matrix auction" thread.

A committed group of purpose-driven volunteers are needed on a daily basis, so please join us today. There are matrix auctions being offered for several types of products, and we need a large team to help with the effort.
